Still around on this thread, though I haven't been on the trainer much.  The mid-atlantic has had a pretty nice spring so far, and I've gotten used to colder temps on the bike, so I've been out a lot more than last year.

Won my AG for a local sprint a couple weeks ago, and had the 5th fastest bike split overall.  It was a nice feeling coming in to transition and being able to count the bikes that are ahead of you!  Won't happen again for a while though, as the rest of my races are wave starts.

But the trainer road plan / sufferfest combination this winter certainly seems to be paying off!

Wow, way to go tcj103!

I've been very sporadic. I've actually been running 6 days a week to try to get in shape for a duathlon series.

I'm flying to Baltimore today for my sister's graduation. I plan on doing the Advanced II plan to try to kick start myself in a week.

I feel guilty riding the trainer while there's still stuff to be built for TrainerRoad .

My legs are toast. I was happy I put in 130 last week.... not till today. I went to do Galena, 1:30 3x20 SS ride, nothing crazy... I had nothing. Nearly bailed, didn't have 90%, didn't follow the ride, made it 50 minutes and figured that was better than nothing. It's going to be a long Summer if I can't recover faster than this.

ahh sorry to hear it!  I know what you mean though.  I haven't gotten on the trainer yet since my ride Saturday.  Was supposed to tonight but I ran instead.  Supposed to be a semi-taper week for me as I had 3 pretty long weeks in a row.  I'll probably do a mini trainer ride tomorrow though.

Got the wife to sign up for TR though!  She suffered a bit for her first time using it yesterday, but she is hooked!

nate, don't feel too guilty.  TR is awesome and we all still love it!  I should check out one of the more structured plans sometime.  I've just been picking and choosing what I feel like, and sometimes its hard to choose!

Thanks. Hope you raised a bunch of money! You and the wife are cool you have all this together. How can you not get hooked by TR? My schedule will be jacked going back to shift work. I tend to get more sleep though so we will see how it goes. Slept in today and feel good.

Got back on the trainer tonight after a light week last week.  Did the Carillon workout, which is a 4 x 10 in the sweet spot.  not too shabby, got a nice 3 mile run off the bike too and didn't feel too bad.  I'll probably get set for HHNF sometime this week.

Are we all set to FTP test again next week?

I added two new workouts, 2x20 and 3x15 all at threshold.

I attempted 3x15 (Starr King) on my TT bike yesterday. Holy crap. I used to be able to hold 295 watts for each of those intervals...I hit 180 this time. LONG way to go .

I'm going to try the 2x20 today holding 180. If I can hit it I'll try 3x15 again on Saturday with a 185 watt target.

Resting up for my century this Sunday... but life also got in the way. I normally do not take a week off, but I had no choice this week . Going for a run at lunch for the heck of it. I'm transitioning shedules and that is just how it is this week. Looking forward to my century thought, and I don't think it is the end of the world if I take time off. The plan is after Sunday to rest a couple of days and do another FTP test to see where I'm at. Not much to report for May.

I think we can assume I am winning the TR TSS battle haha.

I must get outside this weekend!!!!

Good luck Rudy...kill it!

Ya, good luck on your race. I really need to look up some stuff. We have a huge cycling community here. We have a velodrome. I'm sure there are crits and TTs going on. Can't wait for the Pro cycling tour again.

I'm so happy!!! So I wanted to see how close I was going to be on my century to 5 hours... don't even know if I can, or if the course is good for it. It is generally flat with a couple of small climbs. My first and only century was this one about 3 years ago.. I was totally out of shape and it wasn't pretty.

I thought I went out a bit hard. Hammering too much. Thought I better settle down, or pay for it later. No dorking around at aid stations just pee and refill. Finally I was at 60 miles and it was 3.5 hours... pretty bummed by then. Loaded up to skip one aid station that is always a night mare. Then it is to the back fast section that I really let go. After that is was one more big climb... I was at 5:15 with 15 miles left... so I hammer the climb and give it all I have. After that it is 10 miles back to town slightly downhill the whole way... I did a 10 mile TT. Legs were shot, but I was still above threshold. Gave all I had and was pretty happy I tacked on a TT at the end of a century.

5:55:05. I was actually super happy I got in under 6 hours. Pretty bummed though that it was not closer to 5 hours. So I get home to look at my data. I never had the Garmin before. I think of this ride as flat... meaning not in the mountains. We get to stare at 14'ers all day so it's flat... well for Colorado foot hills and plains.... That ride had 7000 ft of elevation gain!!! I had no idea there was that much climbing. Not only that, I thought I was only in aid stations for a couple of minutes... well it was 25 minutes... which I don't get cause I was not taking a break or dorking off... but actual ride time was 5:27 with 7K worth of climbs!

I'm not saying I'm all that.. but that just gives me so much confidence going into my other "challenge" centuries one with 10K and the other with 12K. Those I'm just going to ride and I know it will be a long day, but I really wanted to push this one yesterday to see what I could do and I'm really happy with the results.

I'm just going to do a tempo ride tomorrow to move the legs then do my 20 min test on Thursday. See how I feel after that. I can at least walk today so that's good.

I got a new stem and clip ons. I don't think I changed my position all that much since that was not the goal.... but holy cow, right between my butt and leg... wow, that hurt early and bad later. I was pretty happy to get off the seat too.

Some people do group rides on TR with google hangout. That's pretty cool.

That's a major feature we want to build though. The ability to let people ride together online with web cams and synced workouts.

I'm open to what ever. We knew Spring there was still some trainers out there but it was the wrong time of year for trainer groups. Nate was working on the group ride thing so we kicked this off just for the heck of it. I need to start getting longer rides in. I want to do a trainer or two a week to keep things up, but it will be a mix. So even I will be doing less on the trainer for now. Hopefully we can get group rides together by Fall and Winter and get a BT group together on TR. Just thoughts, not answers.

Yeah i'm sure we could figure something out like that.  She's up on TR now and has a webcam on her Macbook that we use for the workouts, so i'm sure it could be done.
