did everyone hear?  Bryan has been banned from all forums

Thats AWFUL he has helped me out  numberous times!!

yeah saw that yesterday too, I think it's lame, but the admins do what they do.

To me, the problem is the mods/admins like to delete entire threads and cause others to question and get upset rather than cull the offending posts out individually when threads start to stray.

I know their moderation keeps this place pretty civil for the most part, but there are ways to go about it without outright permanent bans, too.

Did you see why Steve??  I moderate at a fitness forum and it's really easy to delete the offending posts and drop a warning in thread.  The only way I'd ban someone was for a repeated offense.

I didn't see the exact post, but I know he was fired up after that one thread got deleted.

I own a couple of forums and admin on others as well. You're exactly right.

Yeah, but it wasn't intended that way. For those of you who know Bryan on here, he gives way more time than most with very valuable info. Similiar to Kelly. Yeah, he can be blunt, but he's one of the more generous guys on here. It's pretty much BS that they banned him.

Anyway, I've still been following the mentor group. And congrats to all of you for your races last week, and Karen, good luck at IM Tahoe. I bet it's going to be awesome.

So rather than me being negative about injuries etc, I haven't really been posting. I've fallen into a mental slump, part of it is due to these nagging injuries from my car accident that won't go away. And I feel as if my season is falling apart. HIM is just not going to happen, and I'll be lucky to get a couple more Sprints in. Probably nothing more than that. June has been an awful month. So again, I don't want to be bringing negative energy to such a positive group.

Everyone is doing fantastic and am very happy to see that.

Rizer! Sorry to hear all your injuries are still bothering you! My friend was in a accident and it sucked at first but he stuck with PT and training and now he is crazy and runs in those stupid toe shoes haha! Hope you feel better and can get back to normal.

I have a question for you seasoned triathletes. When do you start planning your racing season? I have talked with the wife and we discussed the commitment for an HIM and she is onboard (as long as I stick to training early in the morning ) I think just one HIM is a good start and then I would go from there. It would be my A race. So should I pick something later in the year or early. If I pick earlier then I guess I will just fill in with sprints/olympic distances. I want to eventually do and IM but I think that is in 2014 time frame. I am stepping back from run only races unless it is a 5k/10k that I like to support so I will want to fill  the year with something to keep me active. If I don't have a race or a program to stick to then I tend to slack off. Thanks for you input. Kelly, this is perhaps more for you-Would this be better left to a coach to help with?

I'm not a seasoned triathlete yet, but I'll share what I do.  I am planning my A races now.  You have to sign up early for lots of them anyway (WTC brand, anyway).  Then I wait until after Christmas to fill in with B and C races.  I don't think I spaced them out in the best way this season, or at least that's what Kelly told me a while back, so my training plan was adjusted.  I think there is a science to planning out a season.  I'm sure Kelly will share.....

I dealt with a nasty accident a few years ago, and I know it sucks.

X2 to Michele.  Let us know if there's anything we can do.

I plan my season by picking one or two A race spaced far a part (this year IMNYC and IMFL) and then slotting in other races where they work in the training schedule (usually at the end of a rest weekto be used as fitness tests).  Pretty much my entire season scheudle is dictated by the big races.  While you can obviously race as much as you want, if the goal is to have the best result possible, you should let you A race dictate the schedule.

Thanks Jennifer and Kelly-So I have a "crazy plan" which would be two HIM's. One in March/May and the other in October with a couple B, C's mixed in. My "hey lets take this slow approach" would be to do one in late season as my go all out A race with sprints and olympics through the beginning of the year. Then settle into a training program however many weeks out with nothing but training for the A race. That seems to be the more logical way haha. idk...I am loving this so much more than running races ever was and I am just excited to do it all.

I think an early and late HIM are fine.  What I would do is slot them into a yearly plan and then pick other races based on that plan.

I currently have 2 races on tap for next year that will eat up 99% of my race budget.  LOL.  May be able to sneak a few more in there, but pretty much just Texas 70.3 and IMTX.

I want to do Eagleman (early June) and Cedar Point (early Sept).  My husband told me I ought to do the full rev at Cedar Point, but I want to see the course and Rev3 product before I commit to something like that.  I have always said I would wait another full year until I learn as much as I can about triathlon, but since he suggested it.........

April and May.  I can probably work in a sprint or two and maybe the same half I'm doing this year, it's only $125, towards the end of next.

Jeff R - sorry your still dealing with lingering injuries, that really sucks.  Try to focus on what you can control, and celebrate little things.  (I'm not good at doing that, but if you can it really helps.)

I looked at the terms of service and the only provision that looks like it might apply is this:

"This site is provided as a public service and your usage of this service may be terminated at any time by the site operators without prior notice."

Seeing as I often speak my mind directly, I'm curious as to what exactly the parameters for being banned are as it seems like sarcasm could be enough.
