easy run this morning and then I'm going to hit the pool later.  Plan calls for 6 x 500.  Gross.  I am really over swimming at the moment.....I have to drag my butt to the pool to get in these workouts.  I hope some time off in Sept. & Oct. will make me excited to get in the pool again (because I'm over it right now).

long bike ride tomorrow morning and then recovery week.  Sunday is an off day.  Woot!!  My next tri is next weekend.  Looking forward to testing myself again!

7 mile run this morning, it was miserable.  Walked the hills.  I weighed myself before & after, and dropped 4 pounds in 75 minutes.  I even drank a bottle of water.  My shorts felt like they were carrying the entire 4 pounds in sweat!

Long bike ride tomorrow (although my knee has been bothering me biking so we'll see how that goes), long run Sunday, and then Peachtree 10k Monday.  I'm tired just thinking about all this.

Oh, and I'm planning to swim this afternoon, and at the lake over the weekend.

Heading out to Buffalo for the race tomorrow (Tri in the Buff -- such a fun name).

Karen -- I was thinking of you this morning when I stopped to move and earth worm from the pavement to the grass, poor little guy.

An earth worm?  Are you trying to make fun of me?  I don't know that I'd stop for a worm, and certainly not for a snake.  Turtle yes (except the last two times I did stop for turtles it was kind of scary - one hissed at me, the other rattled around in his shell and started clawing at me), penguin absolutely!

How big was this worm?

Haven't decided if the fact the name is not accurate is a good thing or not. 11+ mile run this morning. Was soaked by mile 2. Its sooooo hot. Was tempted to run shirtless but I don't think that would be pretty

Not making fun of you -- just thinking of the turtles.  He was 3 or so inches long and was going to get baked in the sun.

I'm an idiot.  Drove all the way to Buffalo and forgot to bring a tri top, so I'll be racing in a borrowed swimsuit tomorrow morning (love the fact that it has the wrong name on the ).

38 miles this morning with a couple new biking friends.  We did some good climbing (3,200 feet) and I asked if we could try a couple pace lines as I haven't really experienced that.  That was fun.  Hit 46 mph on a steep downhill.  That was not in a pace line, we just separated for that.  Fun ride!!

Happy 4th and be safe this weekend.

I ordered some Spinerval interval dvds - Suffer-O-Rama & No Slackers Allowed.  They are 45 minute workouts with lots of tempo work.  Doing something like this once a week will address speed on the bicycle; right?  I mean, I know I have to cycle more to get faster (trying here), but I need some tempo workouts.  This week I did 3 x 20 minutes are RPE 7 with 3 minute RIs.  Does that sound right?

Happy 4th, everyone.  We're hitting the beach tomorrow morning (where I'm secretly hoping to get in some more practice with the wetsuit..shhh) and then my ILs are hosting a picnic.  Monday is a freebie day...lot of chill this weekend.  I have tomorrow off and get to sleep in!  Yay!

Decent race.  Course was long on the swim, bike and run so an eh time.  8th Female overall and 2nd 30-34.  Hit my watts on the bike and was 11 bpm higher on the run than the bike so pretty well paced.

Karen

You're running a 10k tmrw in the heat after doing almost 80 miles on the bike today.  That must be your "LIGHT SPIN" the day before a race.  IMPRESSIVE!!!   Good Luck

Nice job on the sprint Kelly.  Nice warm up for you for LP.

Ok got some orange and blue Brooks running shoes today so I need new laces.  What's your favorite lacing system?

Tomorrow is 50 miles followed by a 30-40 minute Trun.  5 or 10k with friends from the Y on Monday.  Kinda depends of how my legs feel.

Good job Kelly.
