Great race Kelly,

Tomorrow I do my first 100 miler on the bike and if I'm ok I'll do a Trun. I think we are going to get rain too should be fun.

Karen

You're running a 10k tmrw in the heat after doing almost 80 miles on the bike today.  That must be your "LIGHT SPIN" the day before a race.  IMPRESSIVE!!!   Good Luck

Nice job on the sprint Kelly.  Nice warm up for you for LP.

Ha! Race is actually Monday. And it's hard to "race" the Peachtree because of all the people. I'm just planning on running easy, it's all about the shirt and crazy people watching.Heading to the lake for swim, then run. Schedule gas 2 hours, but I'm thinking an hour would be good.

Ok got some orange and blue Brooks running shoes today so I need new laces.  What's your favorite lacing system?

Tomorrow is 50 miles followed by a 30-40 minute Trun.  5 or 10k with friends from the Y on Monday.  Kinda depends of how my legs feel.

Good job Kelly.

Assume you're looking for cinch style. I liked Lock Laces, but ended up figuring out I needed actual laces to keep my feet from moving too much. Shorter distance I can get away with cinch, but longer runs and the sweat that runs into my socks cause blisters for me.

What wave are you in?  I love Peachtree.  Everyone in Atlanta is a runner for a day.

I use lace locks.  I actually don't use socks when I run unless it a full iron, although it takes some practice and some shoes are better for this than others.

I'm a big fan of the Zoot and K-Swiss shoes because both have drainage systems that let water and sweat run out of the shoes, which helps prevent blisters.

Very true, everyone runs today. I'm in D, didn't have a good time to submit this year. My husband is in F so I will probably start back with him and plan to run walk. My friend is also running, we have matching outfits. Dorky but what we do every year. And we are gonna look cute!

Sounds a lot like a couple 5k races we have here.  If you try to race it then it's more like a human obstacle course than a race.

52.16 on the bike into a 4 mile Trun.  All told about 3 hours.  Time for pool and beer.  Well the Gap Outlet first.  All my shorts are size 36 in the waist and I wear a 30 now.

congrats on the race Kelly and Karen all I can say is wow! I did a 3.1 t run off a 12 mile bike and did ok. have not done the brick work i should have, but still have time to get some in before my race. Reservoir temps where I will swim have creeped up to 54 and it looks like we have some really hot temps over the next two weeks to help. I am hoping for mid 60's but will be happy with ANYTHING above 60.

I have it and it works, but for no money, I just use plastic jewel bags and they work just as good (if I use anything at all).  Others use body glide.

Been out of touch . . . sounds like everyone had some really good training this weekend.  I am seeing July 3 and some massive numbers already put up from everyone. Awesome!!!  You know when race season is really here!!!

Great race Kelly!  You are a better person than me racing in a swimsuit . . . I would've used a t-shirt or bought a shirt.

Just some running for me this weekend.  Did a 5k with a friend that hadn't run for years so helped her through the race, but mark my words, next year that will be a PR course . . . shady and flat!!!

Happy 4th everyone! I did my first century ride yesterday went well no rain, low to mid 90's we ended up doing 110 miles so no t-run. There were some every strong riders in the group so the pace was high at times. Now for the important stuff we were in the back country of florida so the road kill count was high and diverse. We had 2 possum, 4 Armadillos, 3 snakes, 2 turkey vultures, 1 turtle, several splats (unidentifiable road kills) and a wild boar(every messy).

Funny thing is until this thread I have never even thought to look for road kill never mind count them.

That is quite a diverse road kill list. I started counting to give me something to do while on a long ride. No road kill today @ the Peachtree, unless I can count the guy unconscious at mile 5. Paramedics were with him, assume he was going to be ok.

Kelly, you never should have said anything about the Lululemon shorts. Went to their store yesterday. Spent $250! Do like them, never would have tried them on. Nike Tempo have always been my favorite. They are very comfy though.

did a recovery hike today with a friend. 3.5 mile climb of over 1000 feet and back. One live snake and one road kill snake on the road.

So a 6 AM impromptu 5k put on by a trainer friend at the gym.  Came in 2nd out of like 30.  Guy in front of me was running close to a six minute mile.  Need a nap now.
