1053 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? #277 -7.5 mi Ran with spouse, kept a nice easy pace 10 min/mi ish. I am feeling ready to run again, no post IM rut. I am going to take it easy one more week for good measure, then I will start training for my Nov. marathon. Going to do Pfitzinger 18/85. I'm still going to swim twice a week and bike twice per week on top of that for maintenance. |

I ran 71.32 miles during my first week of taper for the 100 miler. Less than two weeks to go. |

Somehow "71.31" miles and "taper" do not seem like they go together ;) Getting excited for you Ron! |

Regular 1359 Jenison, MI | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? Back from a vacation which included a whole lot of beer. Regardless, I still got my runs in every day, finishing with a 6 miler today when I got home. That's my first run longer than about a 5K since my injury in early June. Day 7 complete. Back in action. |

1053 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? #278-4 mi Cut the run a little short, had some awesome Mexican food last night. Awesome to eat, not awesome on day 2. Happy to make it home and not have to fertilize my neighbors bushes. |

1053 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? #280- last run was 279. 6 mi. Feeling pretty tired. Shortened run today. Legs pretty heavy. I did yard work for 2 hours or so, but I am pretty sure I still am not really recovered from the IM. May shorten my marathon plan to 12/85. I don't think I will be back to 60 mile weeks for at least 2 to 3 weeks. I'll give it till Monday before I make a decision. May have just been a bad day. |

1053 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? #281- solid 4 miles off the bike. Did some foam rolling last night, got a good nights sleep, put yesterday's disaster run out of my mind. Game on. |

1439 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? Day 624, 9.1 mile progressive run. Last mile was at 7:03 pace. If anyone is interested here is my crazy fall race schedule, Beast Of Burden 100 miler 17 Aug, Mt Nittany marathon 1 Sep, Air Force marathon 21 Sep, Super Kwik half marathon 12 Oct, Marine Corps marathon 27 Oct, and finally the Soldiers marathon 9 Nov. Work got in the way of my spring plans but not this fall. I have already signed up and paid for everyone of these races along with booking my hotel room. Going to be a busy and fun fall racing schedule. With this schedule I may not be able to keep up with my 300 mile per month I was trying to do this year but my initial goal was to run at least 3000 miles and that will happen probably by the end of September if not very early October. What I am most curious about is how your recovery will go for the 100 miler. 2 weeks to a marathon is really nothing. Very ambitious. I wish you lots of luck in pulling it off. |

Wow! That is a lot, how does your body hold up? As I get closer to 70/week my legs are starting to protest. Surprisingly my body is holding up well so far with my 9-155 mpw training I was doing. Some of these races I will not be trying for a pr but I will still be racing them somewhat, that is what my body will allow. I found the first week or two I was at higher mileage my legs protested a little, felt tired and heavy and I also found out the a good day of speed work made them feel better, go figure. I also learned to keep the easy days easy and that way my body was more prepared for the hard days. I really do believe that the running has allowed my to run the mileage that I have been running this year, my body has adapted and seems to enjoy it most days. That being said I will let you how it feels after all these races. |

Champion 6931 Bellingham, Washington | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? After reading the recent Runners World, I found out there is the United States Running Streak Association. Have to have at least one continous mile of running every day. So I'm at Day 3. 3 miles. |

Welcome to the madness, I am number 363 on their current active list but I run much more than the one mile minimum every day. |

Have to have at least one continous mile of running every day. So I'm at Day 3. 3 miles. Welcome. It really becomes an obsession. I am flying to China in about 2 weeks, and am already trying to work out how I will keep the streak going. Its tricky with a 12 hour time difference too. I am going to have to do some math, and get creative with runs. I thought about doing a 20 minute jog in the airport, since some of the terminals are pretty long, but I don't want to be displaying any "unusual behavior," and get tackled by airport security. It should be interesting. #283- 7.5 mile tempo. First real run since IM, averaged 7:10 min/mi. Felt good. Ready to get back into a structured training plan. |

1439 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? Day 626, 14.25 miles. One week to go until the 100 miler. This time next week I should be about 40 miles or so into the 100 miles. ImSore Good luck on keeping the streak going on your to China and back, others have done it and you just have to get one mile done to keep the streak alive. Nice run today by the way, that is moving 7:10 miles. |
