You need to rephrase that. "Six days until you run 100 miles."

#284- 6.2 miles.

I thought I had more time before the marathon I'm doing. It just seemed that November was so far away. Doing one more week recovery/build. Then I will start Pfitzinger 12/85 and see how I handle the volume. If it's too much I may drop down to 70. If I can keep within the correct pacing, I should be ok. I have to remember to run my recovery miles as recovery. I oftentimes find myself running faster than I should.

Which marathon are you running in November? And you are correct I will run 100 miles.

Philadelphia. I've done it before, its mostly flat and fast. I'm hoping to BQ for 2015. Provided I stay injury free, and there are no abnormal race conditions, I should be able to do it.

Got #14 done last night. Felt like I was absolutely flying for most of it, about :40 per mile faster than my last few training runs. It was humid, though, and I was sweating for about an hour after as I did core work.

What time do you need to BQ? Nice job on the 70 mile week too.

Day 628, 8.2 miles at marathon pace. Last day of real speed work before Saturday, I will do some strides on one of the runs later this week though.

Day 15 - 2 miles felt pretty good. Looking to start building up distance after my race this Sunday. It's a little late, but I'm think about a fall half marathon now.

Day 7, Got a 2 miler in during the middle of the day, was worried about it since I had 5 teeth pulled yesterday and now wear a partial bridge on my front top . My weight is slowly sliding down the scale, but the neurapathy on my feet still bugs me.

3:10 (avg 7:14 min/mi).

I got to 60 mpw during peak IM training, and did a few 20 mile runs in a low 8min/mi pace. I don't have any recent road races to judge where I am at now. In May, off the bike my HIM pace was about 7:30 for the HM (with a bathroom break), I finished very strong, and could have run faster/further. I don't feel the IM marathon was a great predictor (9:21 min/mi) as that was 7+ hours into the race and off 112 miles on the bike. I will need to be comfortable in the low 7:00 range.

I will have a good idea of where I am at once I hit the long run/race pace part of the plan. I am going to follow Pfitzinger's, hopefully with no variation (besides a bit of additional bike/swim cross training) and try to nail all the pacing that it recommends. I am excited for the challenge, and I feel confident provided I get to the start line healthy.

Don't think its late, you have 3 months, should be fine if you train smart and you keep your calf under control

Days 16 &17 in the books. Felt terrible yesterday, today felt pretty good. Tapering back the distance until Sunday, still mixing in some moderate speed bursts.

That HM is really in my head for late October. I know I can get built up to it no problem, I just want to blow away last year's time and still be able to walk the next day. Still trying to get the PF under control.

Welcome back and great time on your race this year too. Which fall marathon are you running?

Thanks Chief!  I am really looking forward to your RR.  Is there live tracking for your race by any chance?

I'm gonna do the QC Marathon (Quad Cities Iowa/Illinois), Sept 22.  Not gonna be pretty, but it's flat and close to home :)

Good luck with the 100. I am partly envious, a big part in awe, but there is also a significant "glad I don't have do it this weekend!!" part as well.

I am sure you have your race strategy down, but as always, and especially for this distance, start slower than you think you need to, don't let the excitement get to your head. Weather looks good for you, no rain, and at or under 80 deg is not so bad for August, could be worse!

I wont wish you luck, because you don't need it. Just go out and do what you do. Run!!

I'll echo these sentiments! Best of luck out there. If you get tired or start hurting, draw some energy from the fact that you're inspiring a whole bunch of us here. Have a great (very long) run!!!

Day 18 in the books last night. An easy 2 coming up this evening, then another easy 2 tomorrow morning with some strides built in, and then it's race day.
