Why's that Fred?!!!

Well, this gal is going fishing in 5 weeks.  With a bikini & appletini.

I want pictures!

First it took Jersey Shore to get James back into the the thread, followed by bikini talk!!

Really those 2 topics are awfully similar aren't they?

NO!!!

Well, we could decide to rock out Jersey Shore style on the boat.  What do you think, Kristin?   I'll bring a bumpit so we can do our hair.

I'll pack a bedazzler, just bring your cut-off short shorts Seriously, I fear the pics that will result from that weekend! Guys, just keep in mind there may be bikinis and appletinis, but we're going to be reeling in some serious fish as well. Right before we head off to the tiki bar and shack up 4 chicks per room at the local Holiday Inn

Jenn, camping up next. I'm not particularly the camping "type" to most people either but I love it. If we can pee on our bikes and have bugs all over our faces, there isn't much else we can't do!

Wow.  106 pages.  I was just told about this thread today (when I introduced myself in the introductions forum) and thought I'd check it out.

After having watched family/friends do this race for over a decade, I'm pumped to be tacking my first IM (in my fourth season of racing, including a bunch of previous races in LP) in my second hometown come July.  Looking forward to seeing what other folks on here have to say about it.

Peace,

Hart

cornerofdivision - 2010-03-28 11:56 PM I just signed up to volunteer for IMLP 2010. I did it so I would be able to compete in 2011. Anyway, I just started to look for lodging and have found nothing. Having never been to this region I didn't realize how remote it was. Does anyone have advice of where lodging is still available this close to the race? I don't need that nice of a place and it doesn't have to be very close because I am not racing. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

Hey thanks for volunteering.  What duties are you doing?

We are staying at the Northwoods Inn.  Its right in town close but around 300 a night with I think 3 night min.  We got a kitchenette room.  Its not a excellent hotel and NO bargain price.

He started getting me excited when he told me about a 40K TT down here in Carlisle, PA.  Then throws out a LP training weekend and goes off line.

I guess I’ll just go pump up my tiers and clean my bike.

HECK YEAH WE ARE!!!!!!!  The avg fish is gonna be 40 lbs.  Hear that boys?  Us, your very own LPers, are gonna represent.   We probably shouldn't tell them it took the 2 of us 10 mins to get a daddy long leg out of our room at LP last year, screaming the entire time.

And I forgot about us being covered in bugs.  We were so sexy that day.  And then came the torrential downpours when we were 5 miles from LP.   Yeah Fred, who's not the camping kinda gal?!!  Ok Kristin, we're camping.  But can we just make sure a Marriott is nearby in case it's supposed to rain?

We're never supposed to admit the whole daddy long leg incident!!! And let's not forget the hail right before the torrential downpour, right about the time you dropped your drawers in front of the fly fisherman

Glad to have you aboard LP is a fun Ironman race.  If your a vet of the area .you don’t mind the hills.

Thanks for the welcome, folks.  Pretty psyched for July.  And as for the hills, well, my road riding roots are firmly planted in LP and I'm doing the bulk of my training this year in Boulder, so I ain't skerred of a little climbing.

Going to Florida this week and looking forward to some warm weather and outside training.

Will be bringing my bike down and am taking a leap of faith with the following product:

http://www.aircaddy.com/products1.html

I have never used it before and will see if it works well. Nice part is you only have to remove the front tire and lower the seat. I think the airline will charge me around $70 to check it.

You don't have to take the handlebars (and aero extensions) off? They will fit into that?
