Does anyone uses online coaching which BT provides. How is it compared with other types of distace coaching?

Gregory - nope, never have used that service but have considered it.

Just hanging out at this point waiting on Isaac.  Winds are kicking and a little rain but so far the calm before the storm.

Shelly - Stay safe!

Hey all!
Just got power back a little while ago.  Life without A/C sucks!  Will catch up later but got a little training in.  I have a sprint next weekend which is now going to be a warmup for next months racing.  Its usually a very hot race and I should be ready for  that.

My wife (large animal vet/surgeon) is working animal rescue/assistance down south of us and took this pic (now that sucks):

Did a 2 mile fun run today with the family.  Sponsored by Fleet feet and I tried a pair of Newton (Gravity) for the race.  Liked them but not at $160 a pair.  No official time or awards but I came in 3rd overall.

David - did you race this weekend?

Thanks, life is pretty much back to normal.  My yard and pasture are drying (although a burst water line in my pasture didn't help) and clean up continues.  Thanks for asking.

Hey all!
Been fighting the cold and not training very much.  Managed a quick swim yesterday and today.  Put the race wheels on the bike for Sunday's race and did a quick ride to make sure everything is okay.

Anyone else racing this weekeng?

Gary, I can sympathize as I'm still fighting the remains of the flu myself ... still have a terrible cough.  Did a ~20m ride with my son-in-law and parent-in-law last weekend and it was my worst ride ever.  I felt OK at the start, but I totally bonked after ~10 miles and barely made it back to the house.  I started feeling sick w/my stomach right up in my throat and had zero energy - nada - zip.  I guess lingering effects from the flu.

My race plans for the year have not worked out.  In January, I'd planned out 6 races, but with one missed due to a conflict, and 2 missed due to the crash, so I'm down to one last race for the season ...  3 in all for 2012.

Still, in all I'm thankful that I have both the capacity and the opportunity to do one more race this year

Hey all, quick flyby.  Raced today, swim didn't go well.  Bike and run went well.  No way I could have podiumed so gathered my stuff and went home.  Last I saw I was 112th (male) and I think there were over 300 males so not bad.  I need a swim coach.  RR to come soon.

Awfully quiet in here!  Work has had me running hard and finally catching up. I have my RR done and just need to post.  I actually post in BT and in another Tri site.  Finally made it to part of masters swim today and coach made some comments for improvement but I did get a complement from her.  Just wish my pool swimming progress would transfer to OWS but it will.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Gary ... nice times and really good speed on the bike.

Decided to ride the mountain bike over the weekend ... hadn't done this in a while and I could tell.  With all of the travel I've been doing over the past month, the flu, et al ... training has really gotten sporadic.  I'll get back on track this week just in time to leave Friday for a week's vacation in Florida.  I'm taking the bike and the good thing is the husband of the couple we're going with rides, and rides fast so I'm looking to get in some good road time.

Happy Moanday all ... plan to get in a spin session tonight, group ride Tuesday, swim Thursday ... try to get back in synch with my training.  As busy as we were thru the summer, it was sooo easy to de-rail the training and it seemed to go downhill from week to week.

We're headed down to Ft. Lauderdale, Fl this Friday for a week and can hardly wait.  The place is on the beach - I'm taking the roadie for some early morning - see the sunrise - rides.  Gary, I can hardly wait for the really flat roads .  The husband of the couple going with us is purely an animal.  He can go at a really blistering pace, so I'm hoping for some really fast rides

Hey all!
Quick fly by, sorry I haven't been around.  Training going okay.  Bought a waterproof video camera from Groupon and tried it this morning in the pool.  Waterpoof to 6 feet so put at the 4ft mark.  Worked fine except its too lite and you can watch in the video as I kick off it slow starts to float and turn away.  Nice video of me kicking off then a nice view of the wall.  Attempt two tomorrow.

How is everyone doing?

Went for a ride yesterday afternoon and after ~7 miles I felt the thunk, thunk, thunk of a flat.  Pulled off and sure enough the rear tire was almost flat.  As luck had it, I was only ~1/2 mile from the condo so not a big deal.  I gassed it up once with a cartridge - rode about 100yds and it was flat again.

I did find it interesting that in the course of checking out the tire, pumping it up and walking back to the condo ... 3 cyclists passed by and never stopped, slowed, asked if I needed help or said boo.  All I know is at home, if someone is beside the road, at least we stop and ask.

Welcome to Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. :0

Dorm, that sucks.  The other day during a ride my phone rang.  I pulled over to the side, stopped and called my wife back.  Four cyclists slowed down asking if I need help.  Pretty standard stuff here, sorry to hear it isn't in Ft. F.

Pretty standard stuff here too. I ended up changing a flat for someone I stopped for two years ago.

Hey all!

Where is everyone?  For me work, family, training, etc.  Consistant training but not a lot of distance except for Sunday where I got an 11 mile run it.  Otherwise its been 3-4 swims but only 1000-1600m each.  Working on drills, intervals, etc.  Two more races for the season then its the off season for about a month.  At that point I just do what I want to do including nothing for a couple of days.

Later all!

I've simplified things a bit and have only been running. Have a half marathon in 3 weeks and I'm feeling pretty good about it. Haven't been swimming since my race in July, haven't ridden in 3 weeks or so. I've been enjoying running though.Have a great weekend everyone!
