Extreme Veteran 585 Price, UT | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group - CLOSED kaburns1214 - 2011-04-12 2:56 PM That is cool-I hate carrying things as well. I have stashed a bottle on an out and back run, but I sure wished I had had some water yesterday. Feeling a little dehydrated today stillArtist - 2011-04-12 4:34 PM What do you use to carry water on your longer runs? I haven't done them in a while so not sure best way to take some without feeling weighed down. I have a couple of camel backs that I use for hiking and Mt biking, but they seem heavy and awkward. So what does everyone use and what are the ups and downs you have found-
I hate carrying water and would rather drop bottles but when I have to carry water I use this: http://www.nathansports.com/our-products/hydrationnutrition/handhelds/quickdraw-elite I like the little gel pockets.

Master 1832 Elgin, IL | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group - CLOSED I use fuel belts religiously. They hold up to 4 bottles and I can clip on my hammer flask and it is on my waist so my hands are freed up. I love them. I will have 1 with water and the others depending on run length with gatorade endurance. In races I will have 1 water and 1 with gatorade and refill during the race. |

Extreme Veteran 863 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group - CLOSED Artist - I like the nathan water belt - I think the bottles are easy to get in and out again without a problem. I have the one that fits 4 bottles and I use one of the slots for my cell phone (help with a rubber band). |

Extreme Veteran 863 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group - CLOSED I think I have read this somewhere before - people getting really cranky before a race? My first HM is Sunday and I am beyond cranky this week which is just not my normal disposition. Is it nerves before the race? Am I just imagining it? My kids are even behaving really well - I think they are afraid I am going to explode!! LOL |

You get antsy and cranky because of the reduction in training and nerves about the race -- totally normal. |

Are you sure you're not secretly a PRO in training? Good for you. I'm going to drop my two boys (6 & 3) off at your house for four days so I can do the same thing!! |

Master 1832 Elgin, IL | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group - CLOSED There is NO sloshing. the bottles are only 7oz each, but they are great and distribute the weight evenly. The belt I show is the new renegade series. You can remove and put the bottles back in with 1 hand . .. as all the ads say, 1 handed entry and exit. The older belt is a little harder to get bottles in and out, but it works too. I get the sized belts, but there are 1 size fits all with lots of colors. I like the 4 bottle belts because it is enough fuel for long runs without stopping. The nice thing is you can add little accessories to hold your keys, ipod, etc. they are great belts. I just don't like holding anything in my hands for long periods.

Master 2538 Albuquerque | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group - CLOSED I've GOT to remember to check the pool schedules when I go at odd times. The gym I go to has water classes usually in the mornings from about 8 or 9 until 10ish...well except M/W/F I guess. They go past 12. I guess I just have never tried to go swim on a Wednesday during the day before! And to top it off, I check the city pool that is really nice, they are closed from 11-2 M-F. ARGH! No swim for me today. |

Expert 1121 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group - CLOSED Ok, totally non Triathalon related. Planning the Disney trip for October. We have been once when my 6 yr old was 3 (so three years ago) and we stayed on site, at Port Orleans Riverside. Loveed the convenience of staying on Disney Resorts with the free Transportation to and from parks etc. Obviously, you pay a premium for that. has anyone styaed off site, and rented a nice condo etc, maybe for reduced cost, and still had an easy time of traveling to and from the parks. just curious. I do like the fact of going to the park early with the kids, and coming back to the Disney resort hotels and hanging at the pool for the rest of the afternoon, and possibly hitting the parks again at night. |

Expert 1121 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group - CLOSED Oh, and finally finalized the car shopping. I never thought I'd fly somewhere to purchase a vehicle. Had a hard time finding a White 2011 Volvo XC90 R-Design for the wife, and the one's I did find were not priced where I wanted them to be. Stumbled across one in Washington DC at a Volvo dealer, for almost $8,000 off sticker. WOW. $105 flight out of Boston to DC, and a 7 hour ride back, if I am lucky. I will regret it on the way back, but worth the savings!! Head out next wednesday. |

My last truck I bought came from Montana and I had it shipped to me. Still saved over $10k vs buying locally. I highly recommend hunting around the country for what you want when buying vehicles. |
