Busy weekend for us.  Training has taken a back seat for a couple days due to looking at houses, making offers, working second shift and running around like chickens with our heads cut off.  We should know tonight if we got this house or not.  Cross your fingers!

How'd it go with the house?  Do you know if you got it yet?  House hunting and buying is kind of fun, I mean aside from the "broke for the next 30 years" part.  Well, and the theres the whole pack everything up and move it then unpack everything part, that pretty much sucks too.

Jonathan- Hope everything worked out with the house

I've also been running around like a chicken with my head cut off. The most I have done this week is one short run and 40 minutes on the elliptical, so I REALLY need to get back on track. I'm in Buffalo, NY right now. My brother got married yesterday and my son was the ring bearer. I ate and drank more than I have in a long time, so I think I will not be stepping on a scale for at least a week. I see lots of running and salads in my future

I spoke to the RD and it looks very unlikely that the race will be rescheduled (would be next weekend if it did happen).  And after talking with others who planned to do it, they're just moving on and will accept a refund...as I will.

So instead of racing today, I got in a nice 12 mile long run.  Just cruised at a 10:30 pace and let my mind wander a bit.  So my focus now will be to just get a nice running base again for a November half marathon.  There's a December marathon I was contemplating doing, but I doubt I'll have enough mileage to do so.  No point in risking injury when my focus is for a HIM in 2011.

agreed on that last part. you "could" do the marathon, but you likely wont have a ton of fun.
keep running, do the half, and keep at it

Good luck with the house - I hope you get it!

x3 on running around w/ chicken heads missing. In laws in town - remodeling our kitchen - ugh!

I've been kinda crazy too for the past week, but it's about to slow down some, at least for the extras or unplanned stuff.

I'm coming off my recovery week and ready to hit the hardcore training again this week.  I started it tonight with a quick 5k that just ended a few minutes ago.  I had 7 miles on the schedule but couldn't get home from some friends soon enough so I went shorter and harder.  I think not having a light kept me from going any faster but it was a solid tempo run.  Tomorrow is going to be a bit tougher.  I am planning a 30 mile ride, 7 mile run and, if I can handle it, a 2200-2500 yd swim.  I figure I have the day off and I might as well make good use of it.

I am also planning a 5th run this week and every week until the marathon.  That should bring my weekly mileage to something like 33-34 miles running, for this week.  This will require me to do a little extra scheduling and late runs on certain nights until right before the marathon.

Hilarious...but I know exactly what you mean.  So far...there are two of us in a bidding war.  The seller's agent basically checked out of dodge all damn weekend, so we only heard from her today.  We had to make a counter offer that they better take, because it's all I have.  I pretty much put everything out there for this one.  It's totally worth it though.  I'm way too emotionally involved as well.  We should find out tomorrow.

I wish I could live the life of training, coaching, and taking pictures all day.

Feeling excited to start run training again.  I was a little sore yesterday from Sunday's long run, but nothing in the joints.  Going for a short 4 mile run today.

my run training seems to be going pretty well.  I just completed the second 7 miler in 2 days and I did a 5k on Sunday night.  Yesterday was slightly slower than tonight's run but close to the same pace.  Tonight my legs feel a little worn down a bit but nothing bad and tomorrow I am planning an easy 2 mile run for my 4th run of the week.  My weekly mileage, after my long run, should look something like 37 miles.  Now I have to find some time for 2 bikes in there somehow.  Saturday will be one of them but I have some things to do the rest of this week, so how to get the first one in is going to be hard.

Should I skip trying to get 2 rides in this week?  I am entertaining the idea for this week but I cannot do that every week, I have to have the cross training  from the bike to keep my knee strong.  Rally I know the answer to this question already but I would like to hear thoughts and reasons...........I guess.

I just ran with my oldest daughter for the first time in a couple of years.  She had only run with me a couple of times before but it was nice to try to get her through the 1 mile she did with me.  I had to slow my easy run pace down a lot (9:17), but it was worth it to have her there with me.  After the first mile she headed home and I continued for 1 more easy mile but picked the pace up substantially (8:10).

Now its to the shower, eat and to a school function, now that I have a big smile on my face because I got to spend some time with my daughter in an unusual way.

Actually...I might. My girlfriend went to Penn, so I was going to find out her favorite landmark in Philly and maybe make her a mounted photo of it.  You think you can help me with that?

did another 4 miles yesterday, and about to do another 4 today with a ride after work.

I forgot how much I like to just run slow.  I doing almost all of my running at around 9 min pace training for my sprints and olys earlier this year.  Nice to be able to run 10-10:30's again.

Thanks all.  Due to FHA, we made need to push out the date of the closing a few days....we'll see.

I have a sprint on Saturday...my head isn't in it at all.  I'm going to give it my best and hopefully not come in DFL in my age group.  Legs are feeling pretty good...but they should be considering I have had zero time this week to train.
