I have been going to an ART therapist and it's helped some. I biked all last week and swam. Only swam this week and dropped the biking. Haven't run yet. Planning on it this Sunday to see what it feels like.I may re-visit and ask for an x-ray then.bridgeland - 2011-05-12 8:30 PM erin116 - 2011-05-12 2:04 PMTut tut, looks like rain...As much as my lawn needs it I don't want the lake to cool down enough to make it wetsuit legal. I would have agreed with you there Erin, about 3 weeks ago. Would definitely give good swimmers an edge. I will probably be the only person wearing one now. Ill see how things turn out during this last week. Stil fighting this hip issue. I have done nothing but swimming this week, and my hip flexor hurts when kicking. Not a whole lot, but it bangs. Slowed my speed down and causes my hips to drop. Legal or not, I think I am going to suit up and stick to a light flutter kick and pull like crazy. Don't think I'll be getting hardware or a Kona slot with this hip anyways. Actually, thinking about it, same would apply even if I was 100 percent! Can't wait for the race to come so I can stop obsessing and worrying.
A year and a month ago I thought I "pulled" or "tweaked" something in my flexor or quad. Less than 2 weeks later I was on crutches with a stress fracture, even after not running at all after it started hurting. 4 months on crutches, (VERY undertrained for this race), still going to PT a year later. Whenever I read stories like yours (been following on the thread) I get really nervous. Edited by bridgeland 2011-05-12 8:24 PM |

Have not had one in 15 years. A close second would be any of the Pappa's restaurants. Third..... Chicken Fried Steak from Saltgrass Steakhouse. I could go on and on..... Goodsons cafe in nearby Tomball has a very famous chicken fried steak. If you have time |

Tell the wives and kids too. My wife is happy for them to come over if they get bored. We'll be hanging a swim shops banner on the balcony starting this weekend, so it'll be easy enough to spot. Would love to meet some BT'ers. Just walk over and bang on the door |

What good will it do to test it this weekend? You'll push harder than you think... "I feel good, ok..." OR it'll still hurt and you wouldn't have done yourself any favors. If you're going to do the race no matter if it's hurt or not (not judging, I'm doing it), rest and don't make it any worse. The goal at that point should be to get to the race and finish. Obviously I'm no MD, however I'm surprised he didn't at least discuss a fracture possibility or want to rule it out. I'm sure you told him you were IM training, right? And you've been running long? |

"I know you looked at the chart, before you ask questions, I have been training my a@@ off for IMTX and no matter what we determine today, if I can run, jog, hop, or skip, I am moving forward.".Maybe he figured not worth the time and money to take one then. My guess. Or he probably thought, well I'll see this idiot after the race when he is broke! Lol!You and tj have a point, let it heal. I'll squash the run test and keep stretching and doing these crazy hip exercises! Good luck to you both and everyone! Looking forward to meeting folks at the race. tjfry - 2011-05-12 10:16 PM [ ]Don't test it! If you want to run then give it a go next thurs or Friday. Everyone wants to test when they taper. 'When' depends on when all of you want it: before or after? I have vacation to burn, so I can do anything. Monday would be nice since the race and stress would be over and everyone could enjoy themselves. If folks can't make it then, we can do friday night. Just let me know!
