How and where?   I would enter that lottery before I entered Kona... I am gonna enter too!

Busted, huh?  Nekkid ~ it's all good!

KelliD - 2009-07-01 11:17 AM Entering the Alcatraz lottery for 2010!  I'm a little scared of the hills.....but I'm need to toughen up sometime!

Dude....you're not fooling anyone

Trin2bfast - 2009-07-01 12:11 PM On that note... How about Escape from Alcatraz?   Second only to Kona on my list of races I would LOVE to do!    Wildflower!  with the all nude aid station....  that's for Todd's sake!

KelliD - 2009-07-01 11:06 AM However if anyone had even the slighest inkling to head to Sonoma in mid-July, I'd be in for Vineman 70.3 in a second!!!  That race is high on my list

Assuming it's the sne deal as last year, registration would open Dec 1 and there's a lottery drawing mid-Dec and again in Feb.

I could be the first triathlete to get water poisoning during a race....

LOL, ya'll are killing me.

There is no possible way I can do 45 HIMs next year.  Pick one please.

I like the idea of FL or Augusta, the less travel the better as flying gives me massive anxiety attacks.   And vomiting and passing out days before a race doesn't really go so great with the overall hydration plan.

I was supposed to have back to back appointments this afternoon, and they ALL got cancelled.

Apparently, FL doesn't function in the rain.

So now I'm bored.

Anyone feeling entertaining?

Wait, you guys set a date?

Did I know that and just forget that I know that, or is that news?

evondo - 2009-07-01 12:12 PM I've contemplated that race too, not sure I'll be ready for that one next year though with that whole getting married thing earlier in the year

Newtons1st - 2009-07-01 10:55 AM I am saying hells yeah we should have an Evondo group 70.3 and beer fest. (Holy shite I just said that)

Can I put in a Vote for the 70.3 Florida on 5-16-10? I might be able to swing that better with the wife as I have family to visit there.

Of course Longhorn would be cool but I can understand on the INTIMDATORS plans.

I think we should have everyone plan on Longhorn 70.3 next year, make it the official evondo group race Wetsuit legal, cooler weather, semi-hilly course, arena finish, post race beer what more can you ask for?

We're going to be getting married in Baton Rouge. I'll let Betsy fill you in on all the other details, I can't handle all the high pitch EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I'd like to temporarily re-hijack and ask for some self assessments Mine is pretty simple....
I've been a slacker the past couple months and that's ok cause it was my 'off season'. Woke up the other day and looked at my workout plan and realized I'm 2 months out from one of my main races so it's time to kick it into gear.  Goal time for the Olympic is <2:08 which would put me on the next tier of the Dots, more discounts and shoes! To get there I'm shooting for 1:16/100 swim, 23.6mph bike, 7/mi run which should all be doable but who knows.  No more skipping workouts and time to pick up the intensity, the switch has been flipped So if you see me miss a workout get on my a$$ no being nice allowed...

Eric all you have to post is I will swim at "c" then bike a little faster then run faster than that.

Just to rub it in I will be off tomorrow. Dont know how but we are off work tomorrow so I get a free day. I am planning on doing loads of flying mounts and nailing down transistions.

Got to love the day off! We're headed out on the boat tomorrow AM and hopefully get some wakeboarding in before all the idiots show up

You excited for the race? Have you decided on a pre-race warmup? Do a couple circles around your friend to de-moralize him before you lay the smack down

It will be a small Baton Rouge backyard wedding.  Colors are yellow and white (with a hint of purple).  You know kinda like LSU purple and gold?   Daisies are the flower.  What else would you like to know?  I can PM you my dress if you like as Eric is not allowed to see!

My assessment - June has not been my best month.  Had 2 races and slacked the most this month.  Need to step it up in July.  For some reason I haven't been motivated to run.  (I've been blaming it on the heat.)  I need to re-motivate myself somehow because I do have half marathon in the fall.  I think I've progressed a tad in OW - I need to continue to do so.  Consistency is key for me in July since my last tri of the year will be in August.

Ooooooooohhhhhhhhhh!!!!   I love it!!!  I'm a huge fan of small, intimate low key type weddings.  I don't think my parents like this, but I joke with them that if and when I ever get married we need to find someone with a nice backyard or somewhere on a beach.

Would love to see your dress!!!  Eeeeeeeeeeeee!!!  Haha...I couldn't resist...being a girl is so much fun

We considered a destination wedding (somewhere beachy) but I didn't think some of my family would be able to go.  Low key is the way to go!

Speaking of easy weddings, (short story) my wife and I got married in Vegas by Elvis. Sorry no "Hangover" type events to report on.

Long story I earn brownie points for life for being a romantic stud that week.

I think I may be the only person who doesn't really like writing an assessment.

Here goes.  June was all training, no races.  Overall I think it was a solid month.  My endurance is now higher than it's ever been.   Had a minor set back one week with the legs being sore, super tight & not cooperating....but the little bit of time off helped a lot.  I hit a point this month where I feel fully capable of the 70.3 distance   I'm reluctant to say I'm "ready" bc there will always be things I want to work on and improve, but based on this month's training and my HIM rehearsal day last weekened, I can do this.

S - Had my longest consecutive swim (which was great!), got in a few OWS, have become much more comfortable in my wetsuit....but I was a bit of a slacker a few days on making it to the pool in the AM.  I'm loving swimming more than ever!
B - This continues to be my limiter (guess what I'll be doing in my off season).  If I were riding on flats I'd have no problem, but the second I start climbing any speed I might have falls off a cliff.  I am slowly getting better at this.  I'm a lot more comfortable in aero, but need to work on staying in this position more.
R - I feel like I've hit a plateau here.  I have no problem getting in all the mileage and increasing long runs, but my speed is stuck where it is.  I was hoping to be consistenly running long runs at sub-9 min pace at this point.  This is somewhat frusterating, but I understand that I can build endurance and consistenly build speed at the same time, especially with the volume I've been doing.  So, this is something to work on for later.
