PennState - 2010-07-22 8:11 AM wow, that is crazy weight loss in 9 months Josh! Great job.

Here is Mirror Lake. Quite Beautiful

That looks just like Tempe Town Lake where they do IMAZ. Except the water of course. Oh, and the trees and mountains.

Have a great weekend IMLP people.

Great weight loss Josh, amazing transformation...

Be forewarned, it gets tougher when you're not training for an IM (I'm up 9 lbs since).

I hear ya on the post IM weight gain.  I put on over 20 after LP 2 years ago and has been a struggle to get it back off.  Mostly lack of motivation to improve the diet, the training hasn't been bad.

PennState - 2010-07-23 7:52 AM Water temps were great today! LP is a truly beautiful place and Mirror Lake swimming is amazing.

How's everybody's training going?

I think I am still recovering from Sunday.  Still have some soreness but it is getting better everyday.  The heat and me pushing myself really drained me this week.   No training yesterday, serious storms, and a drive back home.  Hoping to get a long ride in this weekend.

Best of luck to all the IMLP folks, looking forward to reading your race reports.

I'm also still in recovery mode this week. Soreness finally went away yesterday and I got in a nice quick OWS with some friends. Will probably take it easy today and planning a nice easy 20 mile ride tomorrow with my husband.

Loving the pictures from LP! I was there once in the middle of the winter in college for a hockey game but it sure is beautiful in the summer.

We're enjoying LP, too!!

Fred, Dylan, and Josh... is it possible we all can meet up tonight for a BT group photo???  I'll start texting Dylan and Fred when I get to the horse grounds. =)

My tapering has been a little shoddy.  Back in April I REALLY pulled a muscle in my lower left side and this week I aggravated it by trying to swim with mucho intensity.  So, I'm taking it easy on the swimming and on the running-my running shoes that I bought a few weeks ago aren't as comfy to run in as I hoped and it's bugging my plantar fasciitis issues a smidge.

I can say for certain that it is really fun having my husband with me. Jon is volunteering in a med tent and he's signing up on Monday for IMLP 2011.  I told him how I teared up when they gave me my packet with timing chip/bib #s/etc and it finally hit him that this is a big deal. =)

I had a blast making a sign for Kelley2010 for them to put out on the course and she made one for me.  I bumped into two other BTers-swishyskirt and robbyn2010 and it was exciting to see them again! We all did a training trip with Kelley back in June.  It's funny how close you can get to people that you barely know in real life.

BTW, Josh congrats on your success!!!

I know by the time you read this it will be over, but for me the real hit home was the dinner and listening to Mike Reilly tell the stories and the videos.  They do a really nice job with the dinner in my opinion!

And Kathy is right, it is a big deal!!

Guys I'm sorry I had no internet until this moment and could not look up the phone numbers you had left.  Sorry I missed you at the athlete dinner... maybe you saw me still standing when they asked who had lost more than 60 pounds

I'll be at the lake in the morning for the last little swim, ride, bike check in (and then run home).  Maybe I'll see you there.

We probably did see you then!  We were sitting with the crazy tall african american guy who ended up on stage for losing... I think Rob said he lost 180 lbs triathlon training, I forget...  What an inspirational/fun event the athlete's dinner was!  Everyone was tearing up MULTIPLE times.  One athlete was told by his dr. to lose weight so that he could start a family and he and his wife lost 300 lbs between the two of them! Awesome stuff!  I love how our youngest athlete turns 18 TODAY! =)

Thank you to everyone who will be tracking us tomorrow!!  It's exciting to know that people are taking time out of their busy day to check in. =)  Last night, once they announced that people on the run course HAVE to wear a glow stick after a certain point it got me thinking that I SHOULD spend more time out on the course!  Maybe I can get a bunch of glow sticks! j/k Sealed

In exactly 24 hours the PROS START!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just remember when you are out there racing you're not alone; we're all in your corner, and probably refreshing the screen to see where you are at that moment!

Compressions socks on and hydrating now. I will be up in less than 14 hours

While you "slackers" are out in Lake Placid. I did a whopping 30 min on the treadmill this morning followed by a 22 min swim and I'll do a 1 hour ride a little later when it cools down. Remember while you IMLP people are relaxing and eating, we're all out there still gettin' it done.

On a serious note, take care of yourselves out there tomorrow and we'll be tracking all of you.

I need some help figuring out my hydration during the run. A ten mile run/walk today turned really bad starting at mile six. I ran out of water with three miles to go and could not run at all without feeling that I was going to pass out or vomit. A very bad headache hit at mile six.
I know hydration is individual and varies depending on a lot of factors but I am curious as to how many ounces of water/sports drink you consume during each hour of a long run.  Seven hours since my run/walk started and I have not the slightest need to pee. That has got to be dehydration.
On a positive note, my achilles and calf held out even if the tape on my foot/leg didn't.
