Hey Grandy. My advice is this: You are a machine. This is easy. Take this time to work on your run speed. I bet you packed your legs and your sneaks. Get out there hammer whatever a short distance is for you and then smoke some pushups and air squats.
Oh, and please look at my recent post in the tri talk forum and give me some advice!
Just went to see your other thread but looks like others have already given you some good advice, I would say pretty much the exact same as what Newbz had posted. I also advocate intervals and tempo work for any fitness level, I don't think you need a big base to get great benefit from those types of workouts.
Part of my problem with my move is motivation. I had a nice schedule worked out, I had to wake up at a certain time to get to my gym to do the morning workout class and such. Now my time is much less structured, plus I have a lot of unpacking to do so I'm just having trouble getting motivated and setting a time block aside for working out. It's certainly doable, and pretty easy to do for that matter, but I still have to actually get my butt up and do it!!!
The other thing is my main training goal right now is actually the CrossFit Games on July 5th and 6th, and my biggest weakness that I need to work on is overall strength, which is harder to do without any equipment. I could work on my running, but running is actually probably my strongest area and realistically needs the least amount of work. I only have a few days left of quality training that I can get in for the CF Games so I need to get doing something!
Once I finish CF Games then my focus is going back to Triathlon though, have 2 races in July!
I did get a quick workout in this morning, just did some tabata intervals in my living room. Did push-ups, sit-ups and squats, all back to back to back, 8 rounds each. Supposed to go swimming this evening but will have to see if I can actually make it.
