Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers June Challenge Team Standings - Week #1Can you believe that June is already 23% finished? Here's how the teams stack up after the first week:FIRST PLACE - Avatar Avengers 21.1% SECOND PLACE - Kamikaze Geckos 18.6% THIRD PLACE - Cheesecake Lovers 16.6% FOURTH PLACE - Totally Nutty Triathletes (TNT) 14.6% Congratulations to the Avatar Avengers! BUT this is only the FIRST week of the month! So remember - if you don't MOVE IT this month, your team is likely to LOSE IT! Need a reminder of what happens at the end of June? The winning team(s) will display a signature line: "My team won the June Challenge!" All other (losing) teams will display an avatar of something that SHOULD have made them move more! This could be your shoes (ie: you should have run more), or your bike (ie: you should have biked more), or your bathing suit (ie: you should have swam more), or.... etc. Avatars and signature lines will be displayed for the month of July. After that, it's your choice whether to leave it, or remove it. - Dee |

Expert 1202 Montana | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers D001 - 2008-06-08 9:33 AM Shoeless - 2008-06-08 12:02 AM Hey, team, I have contacted D001 concerning rgattis, who may have been mistakenly listed as a challenge participant. Just so you know. Captain Avenger Hi Avengers, Rgattis signed up directly on the spreadsheet. (Not everyone posts on the announcement thread - which is absolutely fine. ) Since he DID sign up for the challenge, my assumption (at this time) is that he DOES plan on participating. That said: Captain Avenger - if you haven't already done so, please send him one PM. The rest of the team, feel free to leave inspires. (But don't send additional PMs. We don't want him to feel like we're stalking him! If Heidi sends a single PM that's fine - because she can see if he's picked it up, or not.) My general policy is that we cannot drop him at this time. His last logon to BT was 5/27. But he may be on vacation, or had a busy week, etc. If he doesn't reply to the PM or log any training by the end of next week, please let me know. I'll investigate it further (such as by checking to see if he has logged onto BT, etc.). And I'll make a decision at the end of next week, based upon what happens. Sorry that his spreadsheet entry will show 0% progress. I know that will affect your team percentage, but there are probably other teams in the same situation. It DOES get all worked out eventually, so think of it as a temporary situation, and do NOT let it affect your motivation! - Dee Thanks, Dee. I appreciate you taking the time to monitor all this challenge business!!! Captain Avenger |

Regular 171 Lubbock, TX | Subject: RE: June Team 2 Hey Everyone! Sorry I'm late. Had a crazy week. Got in all my workouts, just never had a chance to get online and log them. I've gotten caught up now though! I'm exited to be on the team, I'm a 23 year old school teacher and baseball coach from Lubbock, Texas. I've completed 2 Tri's so far this year and have a half ironman coming up that I am really looking forward to. Sorry to be so brief tonight, but I have to get a paper finished up fro Grad. school, and have to be in the pool to swim tomorrow morning at 6. I'll make sure to be a little more prompt with adding my stuff! Can't wait to get to know everyone a little better this month. |

Veteran 242 Reading, Berkshire (UK) | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers Thanks to whoever updated the spreadsheet with my details (Captain Avenger, I presume ). I'm normally about 2-3 days behind, except for at the moment where I'm more like 4-5 days behind because I'm on jury service. This is feeling like an extra job at the moment, because my "real" job doesn't go away, just because I'm not in the office. My real job is end-user marketing for a software/tech company which is lots of fun (I'm a closet geek). And my other "job" is being a mum. Normally the two jobs are manageable, although demanding -- the third job is totally throwing me out of synch, as you can see from my lack of training last week. Overall my goals for this month are to taper for Windsor (this weekend, gulp) and then to keep going and not stop just because my race is over. So the targets I've set are pretty low, but it's getting out there that matters. I'm feeling very under-motivated at the moment and really wanting a break, but whether that's from the three jobs, tri training, or just in general I don't really know. Enough moaning (sorry ) -- it's absolutely gorgeous here at the moment, so I'm going to try to get home in decent time to make the most of the sunshine! |

Expert 1202 Montana | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers dcon - 2008-06-07 11:07 PM I just updated the spreadsheet to include my bike ride on Sunday morning - great weather here....24 C and relatively low humidity. One note: my swim distance is in meters. If your profile is not set to metric, you will see the corresponding number of yards. I mention it because the distance entered in the spreadsheet was wrong. Have a great weekend everyone! Hmmm, I wonder about this, now. I see meters in many other people's logs, though my own are shown in standard measurements? Captain Avenger |

Captain Avenger You have the option of using either the metric or English systems. Click control panel. Then go to "edit your training settings." From there, click the Defaults tab. You'll see options for bike, swim, run, etc. You can choose to use yards/meters, etc. Edited by D001 2008-06-09 9:35 AM |

That doesn't hold true for me viewing other people's logs that are in metric. I dunno. |

Master 2005 Silverton, Oregon | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers Hi Team! Had a busy weekend and traveled to Wenatchee, WA yesterday so I'm trying to get caught up on posts and checking logs Stopped in Spokane and did a 38 mile bike ride on the Centennial trail there, and I saw quite a few people who I think were probably training for the CDA Ironman. They were blazing fast! It was a really fun ride. This week I'm doing a little taper for a sprint tri I have coming up on Sunday, so my numbers will look a little low, but I'll be making it up after. |

I'm lucky because my beat is health and fitness, so researching tri stuff is technically (sort of) part of my job. And speaking of jobs, time to get back to work. Ugh. Do you also get to write off tri gear and travel to tris as business expenses That would be my dream job lol |
