OK I've entered my info on the spreadsheet. It took me a while to figure it out - I'm a ditz! I've changed my goal to 120kms after I realised I've already run 21.5kms this month ...

Yes Triathlynne, I'll be in Vancouver BC. My mum's brother lives there. I've been once before, about 10 years ago. I loved it, it was in winter so I did a lot of skiing. Now I'll be going in summer so I'm excited to see how different the place looks. My uncle will be taking us windsurfing and he is also a keen runner so hopefully we'll get some runs in together! We've also booked in a short trip to Banff while we're over there, and we'll be popping into Seattle too Are you from around there?

Hello everyone! Wow I checked this thread 24 hours ago and there was only one post, now there are eight pages!!! Geez you guys move fast. Is it too late to join this challenge? I've been wanting to do a challenge for ages and this is perfect.

I am currently training for a 1/2 marathon in September and I'm following one of the BT training programs. So far I've been going very well but the next month is going to be challenging because I'm going on an overseas holiday! I know that I can't stop training or else I'll lose all my fitness, but I probably won't be able to do as much as I have been so far. At this stage I am running about 100-120kms per month, so I am going to put my goal as 80kms for this coming month.

A little bit about me - I live in Australia, in a town called Perth on the west coast. I'm 28 years old, married almost 4 years, no kids but I have a cat, a dog and a tank full of fish. I've been competing in triathlons since 2006. I started off completely unfit and a total non-runner, I've improved a lot since then but I'm still slower than the average. It will be my first 1/2 marathon in September, and then I'm aiming for a HIM in May 09, as well as a few sprint tris through the summer.

On our holiday we'll be going to a wedding in Ireland, followed by a trip to New York and then to see some family in Vancouver. I'm really excited, we leave on the 12th of July.

Well, first things first...if you're going to join this group you can't be talking about kilometers 'cause I suck at conversions! tee hee!

Seriously though - PLEASE come join us. It'll be fun to have someone from "down under" in our group. You'll do great at the 1/2 marathon, I'm sure.

BTW, I'm only 4 hours from New York in the DC area - you should come visit here, too!

Hmmm...I can't get access to the spreadsheet this morning. I'm logged in with the btchallenge email/password, I see the list of documents, I click on the July challenge, a new page opens up but there is absolutely NOTHING else. Maybe I'll try again later.

The reason I was going to the spreadsheet isn't because I ran more miles today because I actually biked this morning but I've lost THREE POUNDS!!!!! That means that since June 1st I have lost a total of 7 lbs. That is so exciting to me! YIPEEE!!!! Now, if I can just drop another 20 (or so) by Sept I will be super happy!

OK folks....I am alive, I'm in the spreadsheet and on for the challenge. 60 miles and 5lbs loss. I was planning for 65 miles but I took it down a bit cos I need to focus on my bike and swim a bit more since they have been little neglected.

This thread is moving faster than the TNT one did.....crazy!!!

I was away from my PC yesterday and did not train cos I spent the day with my family (since I have to work thru 4th July weekend :-( ). I took a rest day and went with my dw and the kids to the zoo and spent the day there. Lots of fun.

However I think I may have been out in the heat too long or eaten something weird cos I have been feeling like crap since I got home yesterday. I didn't even ride my bike to work today cos I was not sure I could make it without the need to a bathroom stop....this sucks.

Hopefully I will perk up a bit later and get some swimming done....but at least it will help with a bit of weight loss......eh? LOL!

Plan to go run tomorrow, but none on the cards for today.

Glad to see everyone is as chatty as ever and maybe I need to look into this facebook thing.....I enjoy scrabble but have never played it online.

Plans today include a swim, a run, and lots of beer (maybe this part wont help for the lbs to come off, but I wont give it up).

Tracey, did you run the Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon by chance?  2008 was it's first go around.  It was a good one, but had some hills in it that if you weren't prepared were rear kickers.

No, I didn't run that one. It was in a hilly area of Maryland (Frederick, right?) so that doesn't surprise me.

dcrunningdiva - 2008-07-03 9:43 AM  Are you SURE to didn't go into the pool after the poo???

Nope....but I went to the pool the other day with my son we got to go in but once we got changed and out to the pool there was nobody swimming. I asked the lifeguard and he said we had to wait about 15 mins cos a kid puked in the pool!

What the heck is wrong with all these sick kids round here.

The worst thing was that the same lifeguard came over to us after about 15mins of waiting ( I was hoping that he was gonna give us the all clear to swim) and he said "things had got worse" (????!!!???) and that "the pool would close for the rest of the day?" What the hell is that about. So frustrating!!! We didn't even get wet!!!

Actually it was in Fredricksburg VA, which also has some hills.  The worst of them where around the hospital (Mary Washington, I think).
