My stages are done, my miles are exceeded, and my move is almost over!

Looks like we have 3 teammates still on their way. My fingers are crossed for you! Paris is beautiful, we want the whole team to see it!

The TdF Challenge will be over soon. So how are you going to stay motivated NEXT month? Interested in another challenge?

There is a "Casual Challenge" planned for August. You can set goals for RUNNING and/or SWIMMING and/or BIKING and/or OTHER (strength, yoga, etc) and/or WEIGHT LOSS. (You may sign up for ANY or ALL of these goals.)

There will be no teams (unless we get a lot of people signing up, then I'll split the group). It's just a friendly challenge to help people achieve their workout and weightloss goals.

Click below to read about the August challenge, or sign up for it:

Hey team, I did it!!!  God help me, I actually did it.  I really wasn't sure that it was going to be possible after that 52 miler because that really drained me more than I thought.  I had done a 42 mile course just a few days before so I really didnt think that another 10 miles would've made that much difference, but it did.  It could also haev een the run and strength workout before hand, I'm not sure.  either way, i finished.  I think it took me 16 stages and today's ride was painfully slow, but I made it through.  Congrats to everyone who is already there and best of luck to my teammates who have that last little bit left.  I'll be pulling for you!

Had a great time being part of Team Agritubel.  Committing to the team was a great motivator to stay on course with my mileage.  I think next month I will not be riding nearly as much and try to stay a bit more balanced between the three disciplines and strength training.  That said though, since I know that I can do this kind of mileage I have no reason not to do it in the future. Thanks again everyone.

After a slow and painful trainer session, I have just arrived in Paris! I had a not-so-great half-mary this morning so I was really worried I wouldn't be able to do it, but I napped, rested, drank lots of gatorade and got on the bike.

I hope everyone is just about finished! What a great team this was to be a part of. Who's in for the August swim/bike/run challenge? I am! I'm focusing on running next month. Hope to see some of you there.

And let's hope we win this thing! We definitely worked hard for it.

Hi Team,

Just a reminder this is the final day of the TDF challenge - I hope everyone has enjoyed themselves

There has been a little confusion over how the final results will be calculated so from the original thread with the challenge rules here are the details :

"The winning team will be determined by the overall % of goal amount of stages and % of distance/time achieved by the team. (each goal counts for 50% of your overall goal achieved)"

What this means is you cannot achieve more than 50% from with of your totals... I havent had any requests for clarification sent to me but i thought I better just remind everyone!

Results will be up in the next couple of days, so just make sure your team spreadsheet is up to date

I think I'm going to do the challenge next month too.  It has really been a great thing to keep me motivated.

Hey guys!  I got to 100% by riding the mountains of Vermont over the weekend.  Holy cow are those babies tough!  Really fun though.  I am going back to a balanced diet of SBR though for August!  One more sprint and my first Oly.  After the Oly it'll be run specific as I get ready for my first half mary.  It's been great meeting all of you and I wish you luck.  Hopefully we can all stay in touch.  If they don't have teams for the August challenge maybe we can all pretend we are still on the same team for some motivation.  I know there is not way I would have ridden 5 hours over the weekend if it wasn't for the thought of letting you guys down.

Good Job LM!  I am in for the August challenge.  I am challenging myself to run more, but I still have a pretty good ride goal set.

I'd be up for a motivational group/team. I totally agree, after the half-mary and getting sick no less, I would have laid on that couch the rest of the day. But the thought of having to tell you guys I couldn't finish motivated me to get up and get on the bike! It sounds like a lot of us are signed up so we should keep in touch on the goals. It will make it more fun. Looks like a huge group so the discussion forum should offer a lot of support.

Not soon enough! I'm hoping it will be by the end of this week. Especially after how trashed my legs were yesterday as a result of finishing on time!

Hello everyone!  We did great!  (I didn't quite meet my minutes but I did more stages.  Hmmmm.  Sorry. )  I'm definitely going to be doing a bit more running in August.  Gotta start getting those miles up before my half mary in October.  I want to get a PR!  I'm not sure when we are going to get the final results.  I might send a PM to Cat.  Cheers!

hey, are you guys interested in keeping our own challenge since it dose not seem like there will be any "teams" for the free form August challenge. I am game to figure out my running numbers for August and post them here each week. What do you think?

I'd be down for that.  Although I would have a goal for S, B, R, and strength training.  If everyone did running I would just quote that number.  My big running month will be September as I'm also doing a half marathon in October but have two more tris in August to complete.

I have Cranberry in August, 1/2 marry in Sept and probable full marry in Oct. I want to focus on my run for next month. I think my bike base is good and I will continue to bike, but if I am going to miss workouts right now, I can not affort to miss runs. I will plan on run only for challenge with cross training on the rest.

I put in goals for swimming, biking and running as well even though I'll be running more than usual. But I want to keep it balanced, I still have two tris in August and an oly in September. I'd be up for keeping a group going.

I went out and rode 35 miles this morning and felt like the first thing I should do when I got home was get on here and report another stage.  But then I came to my senses.   Hopefully we will see some results soon.

For the August challenge I am in for running, biking and swimming.

I am going to plug in 500 minutes for August for running. I know I am supposed to hit 465 by the 26th, but I need to be going up some too. Will see what happens.

I'm commiting to 40 miles of running in August.  My injuries (shin splints) are doing much better and it is time to start increasing my miles on a more consistent schedule.
