I'm not scheduled for a run today, but I'll go visit the folks through the kids' bedtime so I'm thinking I'll bring my gear and get in a child-free run while they get grandparent time.  Then I'll take tomorrow off running instead... I have to run around and prep for the trike/bike race I'm organizing for the neighborhood little kids.

I've decided I am going to run today. The sun is just poking through the clouds and the rain and wind have stopped. So why not eh?

How's your commitment to the Headless Horseman team today?

11.39 miles today. Lots of hills and elevation gain. Felt good. Hammered the last couple miles.

Keep running horses!

well horsies - I did my hilly kid-free run tonight.  I think I want more kid free runs!  It was nice to swing my arms and not push a stroller and not agree that yes, there ARE more basketball hoops, squirrels, etc along the run.

So, do I join a gym for treadmill kid free runs, seems I'd miss the real world.

Or do I run early/late and miss sleep/hubby time?  ARGH.

tradeoffs.  pppbbbbbbt!

Personally....I HATE treadmills.  Then again I used to HATE running! I know! Shocker! I'm a swimmer. Never a runner. Now I honestly cannot get enough.   I would get up early..but still..you GOTTA have your sleep time w/hubby of course!  I run after work with my dog and by myself on weekends (Nae pals) and I am just loving running outdoors, even in the rain.   I am going to be up at 7am Saturday and out the door. Only because I have to drive my hubby to work but it gets me out there and then I come home and nap with my doggy.  Yeah, I don't have kids. Sorry.

Outdoor sports are meant to be outdoors. No trainers, spinning, treadmills. Get some clothing, lose the iPod and get outside where you belong! Experience some un-recycled air!

PS: I'll allow the pool, but that's the extent of it! Now get outside!

I run outside as much as I can, but sometimes I have to hit the dreadmill. Once a week or so I would say. I finally broke down and got an MP3 player earlier this year, so that makes the time go by faster.

The nice thing about the dreadmill is I have less to think about. I don't have to worry about my pace - I just set it. All I have to think about is my HR. But I do love the variety of an outdoor run. The wind in my face, barking dogs at 5am, and the women's fitness bootcamp that meets at the park on Wednesday morning.

Okay...entered last week's total in the spreadsheet. I also corrected my screen name. Haven't had any runs yet this week. That changes tonight.

Well said Todd...I mean Andy...

You know, it's funny. I meet BTers at races and tell them my screen name, which doesn't really register with them. Then I tell them "I'm the guy with The Todd as his avatar." I get an immediate "Oh yeah" reaction, but they are surprised that my name isn't Todd.

So you can call me that if you want, but please, to be proper, it's The Todd.

Got a virus yesterday morning that knocked me out all day, so lucky for me I got my workouts in early.

Felt well enough to go out for a very, very easy 4 miler at lunchtime.

10.26 miles today for the team. Only a couple more nice days before the cold weather comes so I'm trying to make the most of them.

Good running team. Let's keep it going.

What good are eggs if you don't wash them down with a tall glass of ice cold milk?

Run fast horses!

Glad you knocked out that virus...

30 min run, 15 sec pick-ups at 5K pace.  I love taper.  Gonna try to carbo load again today (70% carbs).  Only made it to 62% yesterday.

On the menu:  Oatmeal, triscuits, fruit and tomato juice...
