9:30 pm Wednesday night; just got back from exam 1 of 2 for the week.  I feel like the stuff I cover light is the stuff that gets tested heavy.  Already thinking about picking up the study materials next week since I can retake this one in April if I need to.  Four to six week wait for scores, who knows, maybe I guessed right on enough to finish it up.  Alright, enough whining...  back on the Program during lunch tomorrow.

Thank you all for your support and well wishes as I try to get these exams behind me.

Ok, so every year there is an event called RAGBRAI which is a really popular touring ride across Iowa.  It's ~462 miles in 7 days.  I'll be in Colorado for a Sprint tri with my sister the day before RAGBRAI starts.  It's at the very end of July, and I'm a bit worried that taking 7 days of nothing but biking will cook my legs for a few days (because I don't really have a speed between stopped and pushing hard) and could possibly hurt my training for the HIM I want to do Sept 6.  I would also have only one bike (probably my tri bike since I'll be racing in CO).  The only reason I really want to do RABRAI is because there is a group of BT'ers doing it.

Summary: To make the whole ride I would literally have to pack my stuff up directly after the race and drive to the West side of Iowa and recover in time to start a 7 day 460 mile ride across Iowa at the end of July.  Is that a good idea or a bad idea?

I definately vote that you do it if you can figure it out logistically.  That is high on my list of must do events.  However, you will need to find a gear somewhere between stopped and hard Wink

This weather sucks !!!!!!

which means it's normal weather for just about anyone that lives more than 300 miles north of me.. freezing rain has cancelled my masters swim already in the morning..

If that continues for months on end I'll start feeling a bit bad for you.

I know we have it really good here actually,,we get two days of low 30's and a little ice, the whole town closes down,   I grew up close to Erie Pa, and remember going out for halloween in snow and ice and playing in snow still in march/april...   I'm so happy to not be living in that mess,, I don't know how people do it..

Hey guys

How about we put in here how we did this month, and what our goals are for next month? I like doing that myself just to see how I did overall.

Oh, and the weather outside is perfect, and I can't get out there until after 0800 TOMORROW!!! Next month will be better - I'll actually be able to see sunlight some.

Gary,

I noticed that you responded in the January totals thread.  How do you cut and paste your chart from your training log page to the thread?

OK all - who are you pulling for in the Super Bowl - I really don't care but want to see a close game - I would be leaning for the Cards - since it is the first time.

BTW - Oh Gary Sir BS - does beer count for a carb drink - yes or no - Because I will have my share today I am sure.

there is water in there,, so you are hydrating with calories, I'd consider it a recovery drink myself

great idea

I got in a decent workout every day of the month except for one. so just getting some constistant quality workouts in to start to build up was a sucess..  My lack of any desire to ride outside killed my long bike rides for January though... so my bike total was a few hours less than I hoped

Monthly totals:
S: 25700.00 Yd - 8h 25m
B: 259.27 Mi - 17h 27m 11s
R: 61.41 Mi - 10h 58m 27s

I guess we decided it would end Tuesday. So should we include Tuesday numbers or end it today?

woo woo you did it.. (posted the totals)  I think a 100 mile running month is awesome, plus you get to 100 miles in a lot shorter time than I do...
