There is no keeping up with the chattieness. I just try to tread water.

Thanks for the chart, Beth. Very nice. I love the name, too. I have always been curious about peep shows. Now I'm in one. It seems so different from what I was expecting.

There's lots of folks I don't know here so- I am Robin. 48, just starting getting myself together last year (almost exactly). I did one tri last year and have a couple scheduled for this year. I discovered challenges and am hooked on them. Last month was the first that I didn't hit my mark so I am going to do much better this month!

 toppage toppage toppage!

and on Friday too!

Opps maybe I was wrong maybe there aren't any daytime talkers...

Oh well...I got my swim in last night, but then felt awful afterwards so I moved my run to today and will do that when I get home from work...Today was supposed to be a rest day, but I am going to skip it in order to get all my training sessions in.

What does everyone else have on tap for today?

I'm online during the day!  It is past my bedtime by the time some of the others get going.

I've got a trainer ride tonight, and tomorrow is an off day.  I'll probably go to a yoga class.

I want to try yoga  (I know I am like the last person on earth to jump on the bandwagon).  I am thinking about getting a DVD so that I can try it out without humiliating myself in front of a bunch of people.

I'm hit and miss during the day, depending on what the work schedule looks like.  I'll probably be a little more scarce once the boss returns next week

Yeah I actually have job where I move around a lot so I guess I shouldn't complain because I disappear for hours at a time to run an experiment.

Do you have one of those bosses who expects you to be productive?  Sorry.

Yoga DVDs are okay but it helps to have a teacher when you are just starting out.  Sometimes it is hard to follow the DVD, and you won't know if your alignment is off.  Look for a beginner class or a gentle class until you learn the poses.

I am on and off during the day. I am expected to work!! Really!

I agree, with serendipity, a beginner class for yoga is good. Getting the moves right is important. On the other hand, I live so far away from things that I never get to classes so a DVD would be my option as well. (Never fear, I haven't jumped on the wagon yet. I tried it but it was before DVD's were popular. now that's how old I am). I am swimming today.

Experiments, huh?  What field are you in?

I'm a chemist that really doesn't use much chemistry anymore.  The days I get to run experiments are really exciting!

Yeah maybe I can find a pre-beginner class No I think you both are probably right about getting the poses right ...I will have to look around

I am doing microbiology and intestinal biology research as part of my general surgery training.

Chemistry huh?...I liked chemistry until I got into the real world and realized that all of theoretical and complex reactions that I learned in college would not help me figure out how to make a 10M solution

Ahhh yes.  So much knowledge learned over the course of getting that degree only to realize that I would only use about 1% of it in the real world (if that).  Now most of it is forgotten.  I kinda dread the day I have to get a new job that might require some of that old knowledge

Did I mention that mattocks are fun???

Is that like pickaxe?  Cuz yeah that does sound like fun

a mattock differs from a pick-axe in that one of the sides is an adz like blade.  You can get it as a pick/adz combo or a ax/adz combo.  the adz/axe is great for tackling the roots when you are removing stumps.  I will always appreciate the mattock for the upper arm definition and strength I developed in the hours I have spent with it.  Laughing

Plus, it makes you look hard core. Wink

Hey Robin...don't let me forget to get the last bunch of NWFGS pictures to you. I had fun with gunnera closeups.  I am beginning to really appreciate it's character.   There is nothing else like it.
