I'm too lazy to reply to everyone's posts so here goes:

Michelle, hope you can get some shoes that you like.  I am in love with my Asics Nimbus.  Love them.  My Zoots too.  As far as bike trailers go, no idea.  I was too busy eating ice cream when my kids were that little to do any research!

Cherri, congrats on getting your torture Dan session done.  Money in the bank!

Julee, nice 6 miler.  You rock!

Stacie, no idea if we have a team spreadsheet.  Good question.

Okay, I got my run done.  I cut out .4 miles though.  I only did 3.1, not 3.5  No excuses, I just didn't get it done.

In other news, we got a call from our real estate agent and the offer we put in on a house was accepted.  Now we move on to the inspection process.  I have mixed feelings about all this.  It's our first house (yay 8,000 tax credit).  So I am a bit nervous.  It has a great school system so that should be fine for the kids.  Just a lot of unknowns.....

Question for you all.  We will be moving two weeks after school starts (bad timing, I know).  Do you think I should start Cole in the current school or wait and start him a few weeks late in the new school?  I don't want him to have too many changes (cause I can't handle it!).  I just don't know what to do.

I'll have to show my hubby those sites ~ thanks!!  He thought he wanted to do tris but wanted the option to go off road ~ mmmm, can't do that with a road bike hun!  Soooo, he found cyclocross bikes then he found the races and now he's obsessed.  He told me at lunch today that I can have the tris...his goal is to get back to the Mainland to do cyclocross races and he has the next 1 1/2 years to train for it!  In the meantime, he said he may try his hand at a tri or two but he doesn't want to take that away from ME since it will be really hard for both of us to focus on all 3 disciplines with Sammi still being so young.

Cyclocross is a lot of fun...love that he's obsessed! my friend Sammy Ames is still racing cyclocross and is one of the best in California...have him google him! he puts on a race called Hart Park near BAKOS in the central valley...tell your husband that HE HAS to come to that race  - and we can partay partay partay!

obtw ~~ you guys need a jogger and a bike trailer....then you can train together! wouldnt that be nice!?? I love riding with my husband...but he cant run cuz of a hip problem. other wise he would be doing tris right along side me...he is a great bike partner...and coach!

We're there!!!!!!  (When's this race?)
Want to hear something funny?  Good 'cuz you're about to hear it...this all started after he went and looked at motorcycles then comes home and makes a comment about how he needs to get in shape and he's envious of me (really!  His words!) doing all these tris and doing so well!  I looked at him and (jokingly) told him to get a bicycle instead and start commuting!  So began the (secret) internet searches and that is when he discovered cyclocross!
As for the jogger and bike trailer...that was my next question (to everyone.)  I want to get a bike trailer (or even one that works for both) but have no idea where to start ~ there are so many and I'm paranoid about the safety of 'em.  Any ideas or suggestions?  (Anyone?)

Im at a loss...sorry my baby just graduated college...but...After you do some research and find out which ones are safe....I would post a thread in the classied WTB or post on my cup of joe...there are lots of people that have them...I pass many of them on my rides...the kids look like they are having fun too!

Well I actually did it (speedwork without Torture Dan), and I'm so glad I did!  I think I worked on my mental toughness tonight -- I did everything asked of me, and for one of my legs I did it faster than last week when he was watching!

Nice job Cheri!!! I hope that you have your feet kicked up and are either reading a good book or watching a good show about now!...you deserve it!

Good morning Sultans of Sweat (we did decide to go with that, right?) -- at least good morning for those in the morning world.  Anyone remember the movie "The Truman Show" -- good morning, good evening, and good night -- that's the case with this group since we're all over the place.

What's going on today?  I'm heading out for my morning run shortly, and also plan a bike ride later.  Then there's that 4-letter word beginning with "w" in between my run and ride.  I mostly love my job, but right now I could use a vacation -- or as someone in a previous challenge group said, a traincation!

It's about 45 minutes away.  I think I shall get in contact with the new school and see if we can enroll the kids and I'll transport until we get up there?  I don't know.  But I have time to figure it out!

I want to take the kids to do something fun today.  They have been spectacular throughout the entire house process and now I want to reward them with some good ole summer fun.  Too bad the weather sucks this morning.  I hope it clears up and we can hit the beach/pool/sprinkler park/lake or something.  If not, the park and ice cream it is!

I just got home from the gym where I managed to knock out my first of hopefully many lifting sessions.  I love how weights change my body (for the better) but boy is it the first thing to go when my plate is full!

MICHELLE.  i need to pull a 1/2 of an all nighter and keep you company.

stacieb

We can take turns Stacie...you stay up all night one night with me then i'll get up at the butt crack of dawn and spend it with you!

its a deal, Michelle.

spitshake.

stacieb

Su-weeeeeeeet!

And lookey here...I actually have company this afternoon!

you DO have company.

speaking of cyclocross.  my friend's son races cyclocross.

wicked crazy from the way they described it.

kudos to your husband for considering entering the sport.

those cyclocross bikes are BUCK.

nice that you and dh support each other the way you do.  i talk about Tris and my husbands eyes glaze over.  he's supportive in other ways (spent the money on my road bike, stays home with the kids) he's GREAT....

but manohman to share a passion like cycling/racing that would be sooo cool.

stacieb

Oh believe me, Stacie....it hasn't always been like this.  He's always supported me the same as your hubby but there were times he got btchy about my training (or who knows what else) so it is such a welcome relief for him to "come around."  It's really cool too 'cuz he has that initial excitement going on where you can't get enough of it and is constantly talking about it, looking stuff up on line, etc!   PLUS, he's now talking about upgrading my bike since I told him he isn't allowed to get a "better" bike than me!

YEA. i see my husband 'coming around' in similiar ways.  He's going on a 60 mile MS ride with me...little by little.  I can see where he'll really dig cycling if he'd ever want to get into it.  He truthfully can swim a lick, and he would run 7 min miles, crow about how he 'beat' me - jokingly of course.   i kept thinking you'll see, it aint as easy as you think, buddy. sure nuff, he 'gave up' running about 4 weeks into it.  LOL.  and he's decided running is 'definately' NOT for him.  too funny.

he's actually quite athletic, but never played organized sports as a kid.  so if he would decide to get involved in some form of multisport, i actually think he'd really do well and enjoy himself.

though admittedly, tris are MY THING, its my time away from him, the house, the kids, the SAHM-thang.  its freedom to me on a lot of levels, so....if we'd ever get into it together, he'd have to have his thing, and i have to have my thing.  ya know....

And you just go on with your supergirl self.  aint no way he's getting a better bike than you.  no way no how.  work it girl!

stacieb.

YAHOOO ON THE RUN.  a measely .4 miles.  we'll forgive ya, THIS TIME, but no more cutting corners.

YAHOOO ON THE HOUSE.  lordy, lordy WHAT a relief that must be.  WELL, once you've signed the bottom line, it'll be a relief.  looking for....buying a house, has to be one of those top life-stressors....the lights at the end of the tunnel ERICA.  way to go keeping it together during this whole process. its been a topsy turvy roller coaster ride.

I agree w Julee's suggestion.  I would enroll him in the new school, and then transport him.  i KNOW total suckage.  But at least you know it wont be forever.....

OR maybe you can drive him to the bus stop where he'll get the bus in the neighborhood where you'll be moving to (they arent far right???

that way he can get to know the kids in the neighborhood (you can meet some of the moms) and he can get used to riding that bus.

that way you wont have THAT transition to deal with too.....cuz we know how much our kids LOVE transition.

you'll know what to do, im sure of it.

keep us posted!  exciting stuff!

CHERI.

ENJOY YOUR RUN.

ENJOY YOUR RIDE.

ENJOY TOLERATE WORK.

ANY VACATIONS SCHEDULED??

id LOVE a traincation.

have a happy.

ebshot - 2009-08-05 6:51 AM I'm headed to the track for my own torture session today.  My first speedwork session.  Looking forward to it.  Is that odd?  Probably!

i love to run fast, ERICA.

cant run long&fast, but i can run short&fast.

i really look forward to my speed sessions every week.

i think its the change up.  and i find when im running the intervals its actually less taxing on my legs.  aerobically another story.  but my legs dont seem to take as much of a pounding.

now i'll feel later on in the day, but

you's just go out there and ENJOY YOURSELF.

ebshot - 2009-08-05 6:54 AM I want to take the kids to do something fun today.  They have been spectacular throughout the entire house process and now I want to reward them with some good ole summer fun.  Too bad the weather sucks this morning.  I hope it clears up and we can hit the beach/pool/sprinkler park/lake or something.  If not, the park and ice cream it is!

ERICA

I hope your weather clears (definately not a pool day here either)

though.....

the park and icecream sounds like an excellent PLAN B.

can i come?
