skrtrnr - 2009-10-08 11:49 AM GHOULIE TEAM QUESTION:  what is your preferred fast food resturant and what is your standard order?

I will begrudgingly admit that I actually enjoy some fast food restaurants. In the interest of simplicity though, I'll say my ideal fast food meal would be a plain old roast beef sandwich from Arby's with fries from McDonald's. I'm not sure if the rules allow for this kind of restaurant cross-mojonation, but those are my 2 cents and I'm sticking to it.

rules allow for this resturant crossmojonation, absolutely.

and for the record.  id cross mojonate my fast food too.

i love Arbys Beef and Cheddar, but like you, id sub in McDonalds french fries.

mndymond - 2009-10-08 3:16 PM I'm also wondering on group opinion here....

Should I be just keeping a consistant distance per run (5-7km) or be varying my distances (1-10km) for my next 15 runs...

I guess I would be reaching about 100km either way...but I'm wondering what would be best? I'm definately not your typical runner, and I'm trying to get a really good base down before I start increasing my mileages per run to prevent injuries...(I have ITBS, ankle tendonitis) and am just trying to avoid that from flaring up...

Ideas?

id vary my run distances. and pace for that matter.

i think its better for your body.

this what i did before i did tri trng:

short distance - easy

mid distance - at race pace

long distance - easy

speedwork - tempos, intervals, hill repeats, et al.

2 days of CT and/or ST.

how many days do you run/how many runs per week?

stacieb

actually.  you can go to www.halhigdon.com and look at the Intermediate 1/2 marathon training plan and you can see what i did....

MickeyD's.  Number 10 with a bottle of water.  (Chicken nuggets and fries, BBQ sauce for both.)

Luckily the nearest McDonald's is 30 minutes away.

serendipity - 2009-10-08 6:30 AM Had a fun evening, though.  The 75 yo lady who was swimming in the lake last week was there.  She told me she stopped swimming now that it's going below freezing at night, so she's riding her exercise bike longer instead.  Please God, let me be like that at 75.

I am with you there but I still want to be a man at 75

Some people want everything.  Tongue out

Sorry I am selfish like that.

Which lake are you on in mountains?  I love that part of new york!

We're on Schroon Lake, east side of Adirondack Park.  Not too far from Lake Placid.

Beautiful area.

That's what brought us here.  Really gorgeous now with the leaves changing (when it's not raining or we can get outside to see them.)

Another 2.5 miles done.  I was going for 3, but as I was coming down the road towards home I suddenly realized there were footsteps behind me.  I look over my shoulder and there is a dog following me.  Luckily I've met this dog before, because he is a BIG white german shepherd and looks like he could easily remove a limb.  He's nice, though.  Beautiful dog, but dumb as a stone.  I stopped and walked him back home, then walked back towards my house.  Next thing I knew he was next to me again.  Tried again, then walked back to my driveway to meet the school bus but he was still with me.  Then me and my son walked the dog home again.  Walked back, and there he was again.  He finally left when we went in the house, after making my dogs go crazy barking.  I wish those people would stop letting the dog run loose.

Why is today going so slowly - I keep looking at my computer clock and it is not moving at all!  It is not even lunch time yet

Time to eat my day old Blueberry Muffin I guess   Some good old fashion eating out of boredom eating going on!

Time didn't completely stop for you did it?  Did you make it make to lunch?

Finally and now it is time to pass time by as we wait for 3:30 departure time.

Have fun at the dentist - bleck!

BILL.  did you just tell Neal to have FUN at the dentist???

oxymoron to the nth.

id rather go and see my seriously handsome albeit in a boy-ish Doogie Howser sorta way OB-GYN then...oh yeah that's right, i did say that was wrong on so many levels.

NEAL.  how do you like your dentist??

LOL.

I have pretty much sworn off all fast food.  I always feel sick after eating it.  I did have McDonald's a few weeks ago after a long night of drinking with some buddies.  Bad decision.
