My long swim is tomorrow and I think calls for 4 x 400 for the main set - and I didn't think ahead and did way too many pushups today - it is going to be painful. Cat oops! Good luck and have fun. Maybe your back will take over for your shoulders and it won't be too painful. Let us know. |

Member 53 | Subject: RE: cayrip's and AbbieR's Mentor Group - Closed Got it done, it wasn't so bad until I had to do 100 pull as part of the cooldown Tomorrow says it is a speed swim day and then I'll take spin class. This is the problem with having to shift workouts around, I don't think doing a speed session the day after my long swim is the best option, but at least this week it is the way it will be. I almost bagged my long swim this morning only because Mars was up in a perfect spot this morning at 4:45 am - I was really tempted to run back in the house and grab the telescope. Luckily for my workout, it was freezing cold, so getting to the nice warm gym was more appealing. |

Member 36 | Subject: RE: cayrip's and AbbieR's Mentor Group - Closed Abby you will love p90x if you stick with it! That is what got me started back into fitness and after I finished the 90 days and felt like I could conquer the world, I began tri training. Early on you will be a little discouraged with the shear amount of pull ups. I have pretty good upper body strength and it kicked my butt. By the end, I could do like 25 pull ups. It is really a great way to cross train your body. Good Luck, Keep us posted on your progress. Edited by bmason 2010-01-14 10:23 PM |

Member 53 | Subject: RE: cayrip's and AbbieR's Mentor Group - Closed Anyone love their goggles? I hate mine - they are just normal lap goggles and they leak, fog up and come off anytime I attempt a flip turn (I just learned them so I guess I'm flailing around a lot). Not to mention when I take them off I have these odd rings around my eyes that make me look like something out of Night of the Living Dead. Any suggestions? Seals? Cat |

Buying goggles for me can be tough...I have a small face. When you test the goggles out in the store, press them to your face and see if they will seel without putting the strap around your face. This USUALLY means they will be a good fit for you when u have them in the water. |

Member 55 | Subject: RE: cayrip's and AbbieR's Mentor Group - Closed Has anybody tried the Forerunner 310XT and compared it to the 305? Since I don't have a 305 yet I wonder if I should go for the 310XT when I run into some extra money I have to waste. I also like the idea of getting this fancy scale (someday) if I do get one. http://www.tanita.com/en/bc1000/ |

The nice thing about them is in the $20 range they offer different length nose pieces. Aside from the shape of the goggle, the spacing between the eye cups effect the fit as well. Goggles with interchangeable nose pieces give you a few more options there as well.Any suggestions? Seals? Cat |

Regular 63 Fort Collins, CO | Subject: RE: cayrip's and AbbieR's Mentor Group - Closed I think the meteorologists out in CO need to stop over promising on the weekend temps. . .50's my a$$. I got a great speed interval session in yesterday, followed immediately by a great brick (I have know idea where these run times are coming from). Today it's a 4 hour ride with the Rio Grande cycling team.As often as I can I tell people that I have the most supportive wife on the planet (no way I could even think about doing IM St. George without her behind me 100%). Today was another great example as I paraded my filthy bikes through the house and upstairs to our spare bathroom for a much needed "shower". . .she didn't even bat an eye. Her awesomeness continues. |

My wife deserves a ton of credit too. We have three boys (2,5,7) so training always plays on my guilty consious. She takes it like a champ. We trade years training seriously which helps too. Last year was hers I didn't race a single race..not even a 5K. Okay, I did go and run a 24 hour relay but I've been doing that with the same friend for 7 years straight. |
