So - for the couple of people who saw my posts in thread 4 - on page - I dunno - 11 or so....re: the sentencing....

It was a tough afternoon and I am sad to report - we aren't done yet.  3 hours later and we have yet to hear from defendant's mother and from the defendant.

The kid made a lot of bad decisions that night.  Bad decisions that destroyed several lives, but a bunch of people in danger -- and he thinks he deserves probation.  Not prison.  How do you kill a guy and expect probation?  I know this is a downer post - especially after talking about swallowing flies and the like but sometimes, I have to vent.

Venting toppage....

Underage kids drink.  I get that.

People drive drunk - I get that too (don't approve mind you - and it keeps me employed)

I don't understand running from the cops.  You are already drunk - impaired - etc and now you are going to drive at a high rate of speed?

Oh man. Heavy stuff in chat!

I feel for the kids parents, for his brother and sisters.  For all the people that say he is a good kid - that he follows rules (really?  drinking, driving, underage, smoking dope, running from the law? but I digress)  - that he was a good kid when in cub scouts and I just want to scream what our victim witness coordinator said:

"Ok, other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the show?"
