I'm sorry to hear that. |

Elite 3913 far northern CA | Subject: RE: May Flowers Challenge I should have made weight loss one of my goals this month. I'm doing just fine in that department! It's been dumping fast over the past 3 weeks of being sick. I sure don't want to find it again when I get better! My coughing is letting up a little. I still don't have any energy. I miss my dog. The other two dogs seem a bit lost, too. |

My shoulder has been messed up for years. Yoga seems to be the one thing that helps strengthen it. An MRI is in my future, too. Let us know how it goes. |

I realised I used to eat them ALL the time but I haven't had one for 3-4 months now because the floods meant ruined crops (we don't import) and prices have been at least $12 a kilo all year which I refuse to pay. I'm sad, I like bananas. Just had to share - that is all! I find if I don't eat a banana every 2 days or so, I get REALLY bad foot/calf cramps ... my body needs the potassium. Also if I go more than 3-4 days, I get lock jaw. Bananas are a necessity in my world!
Hmmm, I have been getting more cramps than usual lately - maybe thats the reason. Guess I better find another potassium source! Ahem. MELONS. Just another important lil bit of trivia ... |

Don't let them push surgery unless it's absolutely necessary. I completely decimated my shoulder March 2010 (tore the supraspinatus at the insertion point) and I rehabbed with physio, acupuncture, point injection therapy, ART, and injections directly into the tendon tear area. My Naturopathic Doctor did 100% of my rehab - a one-stop shop. Now my shoulder will never be the same (shoulders never are) but it is good, I'm back to normal activity with no set-backs - I have full range of motion, only limited 'hitching' in my movement and that's only when the muscles get tired, and virtually no pain (although I sure know the nights I sleep on my left side!) ... Seek out other options, if you're so inclined. There's more than one way to skin a cat AND rehab a shoulder! |

I used to think Suicide and Biscuits were purr machines, but now Dogbait ... all I have to do is wave my hands at him and he starts purring loudly and coming hither. I HAVE FOUND THE PIGLET OF PIGLETS!!! Down girl ... down ... yes, I know you all have heard this before and yes, I fall in love 40x a day, but ... The only teeny-tiny hitch to all this is that I suspect he might be gay. I cannot imagine how or why else he'd be Piglet o' Piglets and still single on this island ... but you think the 40 people who kept telling me over and over again I just *had* to meet him might have told me that. Oh well. I can always ogle. |

And he immediately started texting me when I finally friended him on FB! So here's the down-low ... Monte has gained widespread recognition not only as an ocean swimmer, but also as an environmentalist and humanitarian. In addition to supporting three children’s homes in Bali his swimming supports United Nations, UNICEF, UNDP, World Food Program, Millennium Campaign, Greenpeace, and WWF initiatives. A champion age-group and high school swimmer, Monte retired from the sport at 18, choosing to focus on water polo at the University of California at Berkeley. Following a 10-year break from swimming he returned to competition at age 29. His two-year Master's swimming career resulted in more than a dozen national records, culminating with a Master's world record for the 400-meter individual medley at UCLA in 1991. Monte swims over a million meters a year (80-120 kilometers a month), training in the ocean and pools in Bali, California, and elsewhere. Monte's interests include surfing, free diving, classical music, opera, and ballet, art history, film, nature, and sports. And the kicker ... sigh ... pics. That is all. It's only a 250m swim, a 10K bike and a 2.5K run. Easy Peasy. But at this point, 6 pm the night before, I still haven't packed my stuff or even thought about getting ready. Instead I'm drinking my second chocolate martini and hanging out on BT. I spent the entire day today on my feet (in flip flops no less) walking around a mall and doing some shopping/errands hanging with friends ... I'm so far from caring about this that I'm starting to wonder if there's something wrong with my brain ... That said - I got my TriCops "uniform" today ... check it out! Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: May Flowers Challenge IT'S MAH BURFDAY!!!!! holy carp, I can't believe I made it this far. Heck, there were times this last year I wasn't sure I was going to make it to today ... last year I was depressed, I didn't want a birthday or any fuss at all, so of course I got four parties This year I'm just so happy to be alive and not deathly ill, incredibly grateful for everything, and quite happy to make a fuss of my birthday, if just a little. Not up to any big parties or anything, but some of the nearest and dearest will gather at one of my happy place restaurants (a simple affair, but there's lots of weird animals running around the place--monkeys, cats that do tricks, hornbills, other exotic birds, the requisite lazy street dog or two sleeping under the tables and begging for bits if they feel up to it) ... Oh and for the record I am Aw, gee, shucks, what's that you say? I don't act my age at all? Well, one has to preserve one's youth somehow |
