Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Are Turkey Trottin' Through November Morning Ghoulies. I am dragging this morning. Went to Asheville to a concert last night. I had a bit of wine and we got home after midnight. Thank goodness today is the day to do the inspection at the State Park. I was hoping to follow it up with a mtb ride but it is nasty and windy and the woods alone is not a good idea. |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Are Turkey Trottin' Through November Have you guys figured out yet that there is rarely a dull moment in my life? Here's today's story. Yesterday morning my cousin sent me a text and said she need a home. I replied back "for?". Usually it is kittens, or occasionally a puppy or dog. When she replied back she sent me a picture of a horse. Um... ok. She is a 20 year old trained Rocky Mountain Gaited mare. Honestly, that is the breed of horse I have been looking at and they are expensive. She told me she'd call me later with details, so she did. The horse belongs to a woman who owns a horse farm, she boards horses, trains horses, and gives riding lessons. I checked out her website yesterday. This horse isn't ridden much anymore because she has some younger horses she is working with and she needs the space so she is looking for what is called around here a "free lease". We take the horse off of her hands, give it a home, food, vet care, and it is ours as long as we want it. If we ever decide we don't want her anymore we have to give her back to them, we can't sell her. I'm going with my cousin on Saturday to take a look. I have a ton of questions I want to ask, and I want to see someone ride her. So far things sound good, but I've been fooled before. I do feel better knowing that I can go see her, and this woman's website looks like she does a lot with the horses. I'll let you all know how it goes. If I decide to get her I'll post a picture on FB. |

I heard there were some wicked storms in the south last night. I hope you and Kendra made it through safely. The storms were wicked. They were just south of us here, thank goodness. Lots of lightening, high winds, lashing rain. I got into it when I drove to Asheville yesterday. We went to hear John Hiatt. The venue holds about 300 -400 people so the concerts there are always amazing. Not to mention the great restaurant we went to before. |

I will definitely ride her. My cousin and I are kind of going into this as a joint venture. She has a daughter that is 7 weeks younger than my daughter, and both kiddos love horses. We will ride her for a little while to make sure we trust her before we let any of the kids ride her. I don't want to get hurt again, but if someone is going to get hurt I would prefer it be me over a kid any day of the week. |
