I think I will go for the DIY fix. Ill let you know how it goes.TriAya - 2011-11-15 11:42 AM Iowaman - 2011-11-16 1:37 AM TriAya - 2011-11-15 11:35 AM tcarlson78 - 2011-11-16 1:19 AM I have a 3rd Gen Ipod nano that the battery is dying on. Has anyone ever replaced the battery in one of these? I can get a kit for about 10 bucks online. It almost seems worth it to try, what do you think? I use it for some music but mostly audiobooks when at the gym or working around the house. Hm nope but let me know how it goes. I have a dead Nano and Shuffle that I want to try and resurrect. I have 2 dead Nanos I would love to revive I'm convinced that if we did some mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, our Nanos would magically benefit and come back to life, too. No, really, I am sure of it. Don't forget chest compressions or melon presses for short So? How'd it go? You need some supplemental O2? |

I want dust off the French I learned in HS and improve (after my trip). I'm thinking Rosetta Stone? I've never used Rosetta Stone. Actually, I've never used any sort of bought program, it's always been through school or private lessons. From what I understand, though, Rosetta Stone works based on how I think you should learn... Learn well enough to communicate, and then refine. Honestly, if you conjugate verbs wrong, you can still be understood, but if you don't know how to say "apple"... you're in trouble. I know it's very rarely possible, but immersion is by far the best and fastest way to learn. Oh, I know. I figured with effort, I could pass if I spent 6-12 months in a country. On a side note, that's what frustrates me a tad. People have been in this country for decades and still can't speak english. They don't even TRY. But I guess if they stick to their neighborhoods, and have help, they don't need to. Rosetta Stone is pretty cool. Someone I know pirated copies and let me check them out. It's really neat - and seems to be very intuitive. Where I work in Miami, there are TONS of people that don't speak english, including 20+ year employees on our factory floor. I don't speak spanish, my company doesn't offer to help me learn, yet they expect me to be able to effectively communicate - go figure. I can't even order food properly most places here - how am I supposed to troubleshoot engineering problems? |

If you want computer-heavy, it's okay. (A bit basic and repetitive, not cutting-edge at all) But I also did really well with Barron's (CDs) for Japanese and Spanish. Not really. I'm just having faith that they will let me sign in on Sat. Everything will be fine. I'm still trying to follow up with IMAZ to confirm. Good luck {{{MELON PRESS}}}!!! |

There is actually a political party here, national, whose sole goal is to bring language issues to the forefront. In one party leaders' debate, he actually said "Look, I'm not going to win, we all know why I'm here, so here's my point..." |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: TAN #154: What are you TANkful for this time of year? Resolved... I called the biopsy lab themselves and they had additional days I could go! One on Monday and one on Weds after the race. I took the weds. It will be cutting it close, but I decided to do it. My doctor who made the appt said it wasn't even an option. Sometimes it's best to go straight to the source and plead your case. |

I dumped a doctor because his buisness office was SO bad. wouldn't call back, wouldn't pursue anything, etc. The doc was on the way toward retirement and, frankly, no one cared. Sounds like his/her staff needs a shake up? |

What I think happened, is the receptionist or aid was NOT going to argue too much on my behalf with the lab. Just relay what she was told, even when I told her that it was important. She has no personal stake (other than good service, IMO). So I was able to apply more pressure to the lab then the surgeon's aid felt comfortable with. |
