Great job! Actually, I just posted in your blog a minute ago. Bet the dogs loved their walk today, too. Enjoy your walk (run?) with hubby. Dee |

Expert 1580 Ankeny, Iowa | Subject: RE: Poison Apples Team Thread Ok we are back.. Ran 1.5 miles straight with hubby (16:28 total) We finished off that loop walking and then grabbed the puppies and did another loop (we live on a triangle so we run the triangle multiple times) - .87 mile walk in 17:32 (again numerous potty/mark territory stops). My legs are going to kill me later... Also - I have a hard time with water intake (not drinking enough) got in almost 60 oz so far today. Getting better. Good luck everyone.. Stacie |

Veteran 122 Michigan | Subject: RE: Poison Apples Team Thread Wow! This is quite a thread to get through-- you all are certainly keeping each other in line! I've gotten my 3 planned runs in this week-- and I had a sort of crappy week. So I'm sort of proud of myself! You all are doing great (updating that spreadsheet daily must be a pain, but it sure is nice to see the numbers more than once a week!) and thanks a bunch to those who dropped in and left inspires-- that really helped me out! Enjoy your weekends! (this might be a world's record of exclaimation point usage in one post) |

Mileage for any late entrants will be counted from the beginning of October so goals should be set taking this into account!
Thanks Cat |

Good for you for getting those runs in though! Way to go! (Wait... what did you say about exclaimation points? I think I'm addicted to them!.... Whoops there goes another one!) Hehehe Dee |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Poison Apples Team Thread WOW! you have all been busy dissing each other and running. Way to go Poison Apples. After about 7 hours of yardwork today, I went and did 1.5 miles of running. If ya'll think 40 is tough to recover, try adding 10 years. So stop complaining and suck it up. We need a Poison Apple theme song. Got any ideas? |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Poison Apples Team Thread Question regarding the spread sheet. Are we going just 4 weeks, or are we going to the 31st? Need to know, cause those three extra days will make a difference on meeting our goals. As a team we are at almost 20% of goal. I'm only at 15% so I have some catching up to do, but ya'll are doing great. |

Today was my punishment, so I added five minutes to everything, and it was actually not too terrible. *g* In the swim I used my five minutes to add a new drill. In the bike I used my five minutes to go farther than I have before (well, without stopping, anyway). In the run (which I did as a brick after the bike) I was actually really happy to have those extra five minutes because I felt *great*. Thank you! Just a heads up to the other Poison Apples -- consider yourself lucky if Dee sets her sight on you. She'll kick your , but it's totally worth it. |

I heard that song by the Proclaimers today, the I would walk 500 miles song...and wondered what our total team goal is for miles. If my math is right, our team goal is 456 miles. I think we can pull off 500 though |

You pushed yourself a bit, and you survived! GREAT JOB! Last month was my first challenge (swim/bike), and that's pretty much what I did all month. I'd say, "OK, I swam 1000 last time, so I can do 1050 yards today. It's just 2 laps more." And voila, I'd find out it wasn't too bad. By the end of the month, I'd set new personal records for both swimming and biking. Dee |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Poison Apples Team Thread Baowolf - the mind is willing, but the body is weak...and the equipment down right sux. You know, there's something about this signature line that we have to address. Hmmmm.... I think it's the progression. Starts out well, but ends on a particularly down note. And that's just not acceptable. So Bao, I think we're going to have to change your signature. Anyone have signature suggestions for Baowolf? Either that, or he just needs to decide on a bike, and go buy the @#$% thing. All right, I agree that the pool issue is a bit more problematic. But hey, it's only money. Buy yourself the Swimspa already. You KNOW you want it. (I am an enabler. You want the pool. You want the bike. And I'm just helping you, um, justify getting them.) (Boy, I'm particularly obnoxious today, aren't I? LOL) Dee |

Master 2339 somewhere over the rainbow | Subject: RE: Poison Apples Team Thread lol!! i LOVED that old snl bit!! ok, i did a whopping 5 today, IN the rain, AND i have a few things to say. depending on which route i take, there are three major hills on my "regular" route. the first one is fairly close to the beginning of my run, and i can usually take it. the second one (i call it bit** #1) i can more often than not i can take her. every now and then RIGHT before i get to the top i have to walk. it's about 2 miles in to the run, well, maybe not quite. the third one, (bit** #2) is REALLY steep, and it's just maybe 1/4 mile from the END of my run. if i DON'T make it up without stopping, or without walking, i have to take the long way home, which adds about 1/2 mile on to the route. if i take her, i get to cut the corner and go home. sometimes i win, sometimes she wins. today she got me. so i added the extra 1/2 mile, AND once i got that done, i was still ok, so i added ANOTHER 1/2 mile. now there's another route that i sometimes take, it's "the other way" and it has the biggest, meanest ugliest hill you ever saw. i call this one The Bit**. in capital letters. she's the ugliest most greuling hill in my neighborhood. i have yet to make it up without walking. i didn't even attempt her today. one day i'll kick her as* and then i'll celebrate. ok. that was the first thing i was going to say. the next thing i was going to say is that when i was training for my race, i figured that if i got out there at least once a day (or maybe every other day sometimes) i was getting ready, every little bit helps and all. you know? i wasn't especially worried about mileage, i just wanted to get out every day. so this is the first time that mileage has been a consideration for me at all. and i'm glad, i have to say that i'm working WAY harder on this challenge than i did getting ready to race, and it's made a HUGE difference in my overall fitness. now having said that, i'll throw this out there. a year ago i was coming up on 200 pounds (ok, granted, i was pretty pregnant) i got on this morning and was 148 pounds. ok, so i'm clearly not going to win any miss america pagent at 148 pounds, BUT it's smaller than i was when i got married, my husband isn't a particularly big guy, he's 5 feet 8 and weighs about 170-175 pounds. and this is the first time in our marriage that i've weighed LESS than him!! and by a considerable amount. OK, all this to say, i'm SO glad i'm doing this challenge, i'm so glad i found this site, i'm so glad i do triathlons now, i'm so glad i've become who i am. sappy? probably, but hey, i'm still high from running. later i'll get on here, and probably chew you all out thanks for hearing me out, you guys are totally awesome |
