I just read a post from Clint a few minutes ago in the Tri Talk forum that Gina is crushing the women's record for the bike. Here's a snip of his post:

If she can maintain a 16mph average for the rest of the course, not only will she crush the female record, but she'll flirt with the male record of 19:42!!!

Go Gina!!

That is incredible. I can barely wrap my head around a HALF iron, much less a double or triple.

Super good luck to wurkit gurl and sk2a2005 at Giant Acorn!!! And if I missed it--YOU TOO (yes, even you sly visitors and smacktalkers). Wishing everyone cool runnings and wonderful training this weekend.

Okay, I REALLY am going to bed now.

Beautiful running, everybody! Great job! It's inspiring to read all of this and feel like I am running with you.

Like Sel, I put in a 10-miler this morning. I still have a cold and am quite tired. However, I was thinking very much of wurkit gurl at Giant Acorn--she's racing with a cold today! Hope we hear from her soon!

Just wanted to let the team know there have been a bit of confusion about anyone that joined the challenge late.  Mileage for any late entrants will be counted from the beginning of October so goals should be set taking this into account!

Thanks

There you go, Selachophobia--the personal missive from Cat! Seriously, you should count your miles ... all your October miles should count as much as everyone else's!

Besides ... we're going to win this challenge. No way am I gonna let a pack of drooling bad-breathed incessantly-barking chihuahuas steal the show!

If only all the walking I have to do all over the ER could actually COUNT towards my challenge goal...I'd be close to it already But, there is no sustained walking at work, it's buzz into this room check the pt, move on to the next one...run over to the med room, back into the supply room, medicate the pt...tube off the labs...sweet talk the tech into running specimens they might reject (after 3PM the crew in the lab rejects more blood as hemolyzed for some reason) by telling them what a b*itch of a stick they are.  Get that squad in, flip this one to the OR (after repeating all the labs cause somebody drew above the IV site and the values were WAY off)

OK, done whining about work...My schedule changed for tomorow, have to be in at 11AM, off at 7 PM.  Planning on an early AM run before getting ready for work.  It may be another 3-4 miler but all miles count towards my goal of 30.  Thinking of increasing the goal but I know I have a couple of call shifts coming up and lots of people are calling off sick so I could get stuck covering when I need to be RUNNING.

Susan and Chrissy, I'm anxiously looking for some awesome RACE REPORTS!

Judi

I just checked Gina's results from the triple IM....8th overall (19 total racers) 2nd place woman

S 4:18, T1 8, B 20:1*:xx, T2 10 ?, R 7:38:xx  AMAZING. She's the youngest woman to ever complete that distance

Wow, that's amazing! The last time I had checked, she was still 2nd overall, but several folks were closing in on her. Major props to all of the entrants, but especially to the BT folks!

How old is Gina, anyone know? I should look back on the profiles page ...

NOt sure about Gina's age, she looks to be <30...but that doesn't say much.  One of the other women kept yelling at her school age son to do his HOMEWORK on her bike turn arounds--wow, how do you focus on a triple IM and be a MOM?  I can barely do my sprints, work FT and be MOM

Got in another 3 milse today
