My head hurts from all the scientific papers I've been reading today. Not sure the pool is going to help, but it's worth a try. I would take the pool any day of the week! The only scientific papers I am qualified to read are scout7's notes on training in BT! Unfortunately, as a PhD student, I have to read a lot of papers. Even worse is that I have to read them very carefully because I'm taking qualifying exams next week. ahhh, so you were able to get the exams scheduled? |

I get them Monday and then have 72 hours to finish, so I'll turn them in on Thursday. We're driving up to New York early Friday. NYC tri is Sunday. It's going to be a crazy week and I probably won't be around very much. We'll see. I'm super stressed out. |

Not if I want him to continue to train with me. He thinks it'll be fine. I don't. So, I have been spending countless hours in front of the 'puter: ebay, craigslist, local classifieds. Any thoughts on which brands to avoid like the plague, and which to chase down like I'm a member of the paparazzi? |

As a general rule go for a brand you know - all of the big names are a pretty safe choice like Felt, Giant, Specialised, trek etc If you are buying second hand try to do a visual inspection before purchase if you can and make sure you leave room in the budget or any changes that may need to be made such as pedals, helmet, bar tape, portable pump, gear bag plus get the bike serviced and cleaned Talk to your local bike shop as they may know of someone who has recently bought new bike or is looking to buy that has one to sell. Plus if they help you they will help get the bike set up for him too probably! |

| Elite 4148 Utah | Subject: RE: Nibbs XX Spokes - 2008-07-10 4:04 PM Now, I'm blowing off the San Fran half on August 3rd - that I registered for - because I've been a) injured and b) not enough run VOLUME... but when my first copy of Runner's World arrived in the mail today, it was the SPECIAL HALF MARATHON issue. So I think it was a sign. I should've probably stayed with my original plan from late last year to make this the Year of the Half Marathon... and it still could be, there's a half as part of the Clarksburg Country Run in November... as well as a 20K and 20 miler... its as flat as pancake in the Sacramento River Delta... I'll get my run mojo back. Watch me pile on miles and drop 10-15 pounds. I want to kick azz. As much as an avid runner you are, I'm sure it should be a piece of cake for you....hmmm sounds like no swimmy's in Iowa, but more running.... Or you sure this isn't just a cop out so you'll have a reason why you don't swim in Iowa???? |

I only had to pick between floor plans, and I just went with the one that had the biggest kitchen. I'm sure it is though.
