evondo - 2009-07-09 10:28 AM We have a bike fairy that takes the bike down and pumps up tires for her.

Newtons1st - 2009-07-09 10:05 AM I have a tire pressure Q for you ladies. What do you air yours up to? My wife has a hard time getting them aired up.

Yeah well the bike fairy must have taken the day off Tuesday.    I pump to 120 Todd.

And besides I've told Eric..I mean the bike fairy.. countless times that it is dangerous for me to stand on a stool to get my bike down.  That's just asking for trouble!

120 Todd.

But I have a super duper bike pump (gift from my bike fairy who got sick of me asking for help) that I can actually do it with.  My old pump I used to have to put close to 100% of my body weight on that best to get it pumped up.

Oh my gosh Todd, I am SO sorry!  I was off late that week and completely missed that opportunity.

You will get an extra special cheer for the October race.

Kelli- good luck!!!  I wish I had a creative ounce in my body today, but I got nada.

One of my best friends got fired this morning, so it's been a rough one.  Blah.

Good news is that it's Friday.  Ooh, and my smart girl glasses are going to be ready this afternoon.  Yes peeps, I'm freaking blind and finally broke down and got glasses.

My co-worker told me about this website, and it's too hilarious not to share - http://www.dontevenreply.com/.  I especially like the "High Rise Fridge Delivery"

Just spent the last 10 minute laughing out loud....people in the cubes outside my office looking in wondering that the hell is so funny.

Had a really great race today!  Hopefully I'll get around to a RR tomorrow.  But for now, here's the short & dirty....I pushed harder today than I've ever pushed in any race or training session which got me 2nd place in my AG (although I just looked at Compuscore and it has me listed as 3rd....regardless I'm thrilled and not gonna go getting all critical like I do ).  On the run it felt like I had nothing in the tank and I was thirsty...but I refuse to drink in 5k's....this time I really, really felt like I wasn't moving....but apparently that's what it feels like when your throw down a 7.45 pace.  I still don't know where that came from.  This race was my first tri last year.  As a marker for how much I've improved, I was 15 minutes faster today than last year.  Oh, and I beat my friends

I love triathlon!!!

I have a tendency to get bad tension headaches that sometimes turn into migraines sometimes after I race or after long workouts.  Why is this?  What can I do to prevent this?  I hydrate loads post-race and get some food in me.

GREAT JOB KELLI!  You raced hard and all that training has definitely paid off!  15 minutes faster than a year ago ~ WOW-WOW-WOW!  That is way cool!  Kudos to you!  Supa-star!

I am not sure about the headaches... I would think it is hydration related, but that is only a guess, and your own statement regarding hydration seems to be okay.  I have take a couple aspirins, during long runs (prefer the baby aspirins) to help with body aches.  Something to consider...maybe it will help with the headaches.  Maybe something you should run by your Dr.

Thanks!!!  Seeing the results of all the training I've put in was such a great feeling.  I think I even amazed myself.  It was such a great day all around and reminded me why I do this and why I love this sport so much.

Amazing race and hardware to go along with it! Let's see some pictures and a RR already!

Not sure about the headache, what are you eating post race? I would think it has to do with not enough carbs and/or water. After a race I don't get headaches but I'll generally be on a high for 2-3hrs and after I get food into me I crash hard and need to sleep.

Happy Monday!

I don't think anyone in the group has the breaking aerobar pads problem that I have but I figured I'd share my solution... The Profile T2+ bar pads are plastic POS, but they have a F-22 series (so I found out from Triontherun) which is aluminum. Now why they didn't tell me this any of the other 10+ times I came into the store to get a new pad I'm not sure but I put those on and they don't budge. Hopefully they last and save me from needing a $250+ setup.

Justin- You excited about your 100mi ride this weekend? That's one heck of a training ride!

evondo - 2009-07-13 9:23 AM Forgot to ask... How was volunteering at the race?

It was fun volunteering!  My wife and I had a good time cheering the riders on!  It may have motivated the wife too.  It wasn't miserably hot and so many of the riders seemed to really like all the cheers and well wishes!

Ready for the century?  I am just looking to log the miles and spend the time in the saddle.  It is more of a mental strength builder for me than a physical experience.  It will be tough, I am sure of that...but I am only looking to avg 17-18, and just build the confidence of being in the saddle for 6+ hours.  There will be other opportunities to push the pace over that distance for IMFL in the coming weeks.  For my first century, I thought it would be good to have a supported ride to go out with.

New cranks felt good... much smoother.  Now if I can get new bars & a new Adamo... I should be on track for better time on the bike.

RR is done - http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=169214

There were some pretty good photos from the day, so I'll add them in later.  At the awards ceremony I was announced as 2nd in the 30-34 AG, but Compuscore has me listed as 3rd.....I'm thinking there was a little error yesterday Surprised   Nonetheless I'm still really happy about yesterday's race.

Being the nosy person I am I looked at those results and you did come in 2nd in the AG... The girl that won your AG according to compuscore actually got 3rd overall, so she got that award not the AG award Congrats!
