Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Whips, Cattle Prods & Tiaras (Four-Is-More Challenge) September Four-Is-More Challenge Team Standings - Week #4September is now 93% completed. Are you on target to meet your goals? Here are the current team standings - and it's a CLOSE ONE! FIRST PLACE - By 0.1% - Whips, Cattle Prods and Tiaras (WCPT) - 81.4% SECOND PLACE - Team Post Padding - 81.3% THIRD PLACE - Team Horny Melons - 72.2% Congratulations to our leader, WHIPS, CATTLE PRODS and TIARAS (WCPTs)! BUT with only 0.1% difference between first and second places --- the Challenge isn't over yet! We still have TWO MORE DAYS to go! So remember - if you don't MOVE IT this month, your team is likely to LOSE IT! Need a reminder of what happens at the end of the month? The winning team(s) will display a signature line: "My team won the September Four-Is-More Challenge!" All other (losing) teams will display an avatar of something that SHOULD have made them move more! This could be your shoes (ie: you should have run more), or your bike (ie: you should have biked more), or your bathing suit (ie: you should have swam more), or.... etc. Avatars and signature lines will be displayed for the month of October. After that, it's your choice whether to leave it, or remove it. - Dee |

I'll hit the strength today, swim/run tomorrow and bike on Tuesday. I Happy Sunday people! Enjoy some football after training! I feel your pain, sister! I can't seem to crawl out of reach of Dee's cattle prod. I did eek up over 86% after logging this weekend's training. 100% is in sight. Just need to hit the pool a few times and spend 3 hours on my bike. |

I'm glad someone's team won. My team stunk it up big time against in-state rivals, Notre Dame. Next week we get to go watch the Boilers get beat by Penn State. There are some seasons where it's just plain rough beign a season ticket holder. |

No idea... he's been pretty sketchy all month. I checked his logs. There was some training listed in his logs -- which hadn't been entered on the spreadsheet. So I updated the spreadsheet to reflect what's recorded in his blog. He's now at 44%. |

Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Whips, Cattle Prods & Tiaras (Four-Is-More Challenge) Howdy-o! Well, we seem to be solidly out in front on the post-padding, but definitely need to pour as much (MORE!) effort into increasing our training lead. I, for one, did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help that this weekend. Just thought I'd share. |

Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Whips, Cattle Prods & Tiaras (Four-Is-More Challenge) I've just got one more run and the rest of my pushups, so I'll make it. Too bad about that whole 200% thing, though... Of COURSE I had to end the month coming down with a cold, so just getting the last run in this morning is gonna be a beast. Oh well, worth it for the challenge. Speaking of pushups, can I get some advice? I was totally burning out on them last week, barely able to get myself to do them and they were getting more and more uncomfortable. I decided, being the fourth week, that I should take a recovery week and scale back, but I'm not exactly sure how to do that. I was doing 11 "dive-bomber" (slightly modified) and 2 "real" pushups for a total of 13 (that may have been why I was having bad luck!). I did 10 "dive-bomber" and 1 real already tonight, trying really hard to focus on perfect form for the real one, and that seemed pleasantly easy. Does that make sense? Oh, I do this every hour for eight hours, wasn't sure if that was obvious for those who don't look at my logs. Thanks! Pictures of vanilla-vodka-flavored whoopie pies to all who respond! |

Hmmm... are you typically sore from doing the push-ups? If so then you might not be giving yourself enough recovery time even throughout the week; with that said, I'm guessing you do this at work so likely do have 2 days off from it. If I'm reading it correctly, you're doing 104 per day. I'd say if the scaled back version feels pleasantly easy at 80 then look at gradually adding back in until you're back up to where you started... don't necessarily feel like you need a full week of recovery from push-ups, but definitely give your muscles some time to rebuild. Afterall, the real gains in training come during recovery. |

Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: Whips, Cattle Prods & Tiaras (Four-Is-More Challenge) I'm swimming this am. I am supposed to do a 9 mile run for my half marathon training. I am just not feeling it. At all. Like I'd rather poke myself in the eyes than run. Especially 9 miles. So, I am not going to. I might do a shorter run this afternoon but I am suffering severe burn out on running. I'm gonna back off and then pick it up again for the October run challenge. I can't wait for this half marathon to be over!!!!! If I hadn't already registered, I wouldn't be doing it! |
