No, it's all about the challenge.  My current FB status is something like 'i hate challenges.  and they work on me.  jerks.'

James--it's the 305.

And on the goggle front I have big problems with goggle marks.  Womens vanquishers are what I wear because I can wear them really loose and they are better than the others and I still get huge marks.

i wear vanquishers, which i love b/c they have never leaked.  i get marks, but i've swam my whole life and never not had marks from goggles.  i've never noticed that they're still there an hour later though.

PennState - 2010-04-06 8:15 AM I should be over 200 mules by the end of tomorrow, but the rest if my week will have no more cycling due to work and travel. Still, 600 is a reasonably attainable goal.

That's a lot of mules, Fred.

When you are you coming down?  Bring it and the manual.

And your bike and running shoes.

PennState - 2010-04-06 9:03 PM Hey did anyone realize that 600 miles in April means 20 miles every single day this moth!?!

That sounds like alot.  Wait it is.

I got 83 miles in today and have 24 day to get in 450 mile.

So should I do 4x112.5 miles rides or 6x75 miles rides or 10x45 miles rides.

PennState - 2010-04-06 9:18 PM I hope to ride 1/2 as far tomorrow as you did today James

I'm thinking about a 40 miler tomorrow.

Today was a hot and windy.  Started out with 50 miles of head wind, 15 miles of cross wind and about 15 miles of tail wind at the end.  Total ascent was around 5600ft and even on the hills I had head winds.  My rear brake was rubbing, well not rubbing but closed for the first 20 miles.  I don’t know what happened there I check my brakes before every ride.  I can only think it just got stuck.  I drank 7 24oz bottles of water, I forgot sunscreen but the 6 fig newtons were so good.

What a great training ride.

OMG.  That would kill me.  I find myself getting decimated by winds even if it only lasts for 10 miles.

I am a regular lurker.  But I just had to speak up.

GOOD WORK!

Ride more windy days you'll hate it even more.

There’re plenty of VERY hard working triathletes here in the LP thread.  I even consider Jenn a hard worker.

Your logs are no slouch either great job on the training!

600 miles is roughly what I had through March 31st this year.

Is it crazy to think I can do it in a month?  Yep.

I'm in, too.

It was another long trainer ride for me yesterday.
It started pouring just as I was headed out.  I don't mind riding in the rain but it still isn't warm enough up here for me not to get cold quickly.
I had 4hrs to do and did 2.5 on trainer then headed outside for last 1.5 - and then for last 30mins it started raining again and I got drenched!  And v cold so I'm glad I didn't go out for it all.
Hopefully this will be my very last long trainer ride this year-PLEASE!  It is kind of weird to think I'll be doing a race in less than 2 weeks time and that I haven't actually ridden outside more than a handful of times this year, and no long rides outside.

Oh and Fred, your mentor group is very popular, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with that.  As a fellow(ess) Lake Placider would you allow me to see your log?- for motivation of course!
