Started at the front to avoid breast stokers and stayed there the whole time. Fast start and I got a bit out of breath but very pleased with the way I was able to get my breathing back without slowing down too much.

Forgot to switch my watch as I exited the water so not sure about the time but it felt like a good swim. Faster than 2 years ago (S+T1 over one minute faster)

Couldn’t find the zip on my wetsuit (again) and I could be heard screaming “where is the thiiing???” but I found it before I got to my rack so no major loss of time.
Wetsuit off smoothly, helmet on, off we go. The start of the bike was on gravel so instead of jumping on my bike and putting both my feet in the shoes at the same time, I put right one in first then left, which was tricky as the left shoe was hanging by then.

If you are not going to jump mount, don’t clip your shoes on the bike before. (But I did not know I would chicken out of jumping on tbf)

Promoted my old indoor bike to outdoor bike for this race because of the gravel.

Took my time on the gravel (especially the first part which was quite deep) and pushed on the road. Nice short ride,

No issues, a good T2

Goal was to keep a 5:30m/km. Although I had read it in my RR, I had forgotten how steep the first km was.
I had to stop and walk, could not manage to keep running like last time. First km in 7 minutes as a result. Great start! (NOT)
Then it got easier and I managed the 2nd km at 5:30 but really struggled the rest of the run. Even stopped and walked again (only a few seconds).
