Nope, not an alume, but I'm a Louisianian.

Ahhh!  Louisianian or Cajun?  There are more and more of us I am finding out west here, and not just since Katrina.  I met a man at Lowes the other day from N.O. and there used to be a lady at my church that actually grew up across the bayou from where I grew up.

I do miss the seafood and sometimes the water and definitely the football.

Thanks for all the Welcomes.

And Beth,  is it really that odd that you of all people would run into someone... you're all over this place

lolol - good point!

;-)

hi everyone! my work schedule has been absolutely nuts lately so i haven't been online much. it's my own fault...i got the opportunity to work some overtime and make some extra cash which i jumped at. with christmas coming up and the knowledge that my new found desire to be a triathlete comes with some $$ requirements (especially since i need to buy a bike still), it seemed like a good thing. anyway, that aside...i've been sleeping and working. but i have found time to keep up with the gym and pack my lunch every day so i'm still on track.

speaking of on track, i have the opportunity to get my rmr #s in a few weeks, which i'm really excited about! i've been eating my aps, and i do feel a lot better, but with this #, i'll be able to really dial in and know how many calories to eat. i want to take the calorie numbers when i get them and try to translate them to a ww pts range b/c i'm way more comfortable counting points than calories, but i'm excited that i'll be able to really know what my body needs from a test done on me...not a generic scale

looks like everyone is having a really good week on here. i am heading to bed b/c i have to wake up very early, but just wanted to check in. g'night all!

Pilates - if you have the right instructor, it is an incredibly intense experience... just like yoga.  Just keep it "honest" and you will feel and see the difference.

Happy friday everyone!!! Ok so I FOUND my journal and my WI material!!!! THANK GOODNESS!!! I was frantically looking for it last night and my husband said OH that think is in my truck!! LOL How it got there is totally beyond me he said he asked everyone if it was theirs, HE NEVER ASKED ME(of course if he had opened it he would have known right away but that is a man for you)!! lolol Anywho, I have it now and I feel complete again.
WI today was not pretty. I knew it was going to be bad. BUT I am in full swing again and I hope that I can come right back down next week. I gained 2.2 so back to 194 . Shaking it off and starting a new week today so I am not upset about it. I did workout A TON this week, 2 intense yoga classes and 17 miles in training runs so I cannot be too upset with myself for the gain cause I FEEL GREAT!!!
I hope everyone is as happy as I am this beautiful friday!! Have a great weekend everyone! Jana

Whew Jana! I'd be frantic about finding mind as well.

As to the WI, you'll probaby have company. I wasn't focused at all last week, since WI was closed down this past Sunday. I've been better this week, but figure the best I'll do is a maintain, since I feel like I've been eating off what I didn't do well on last week (if that makes sense).

Jana - so glad you found your stuff!  way to get back on track :-)  Have a happy happy friday - reading your post put a smile on my face

Terri - good luck on your weigh in - what you said makes total sense!

As for me, I'm going to miss my weigh in this week - going out to lunch to celebrate my boss's promotion -

this is the last week of our WW at work, I sure hope we get enough people for another session

Just curious, I'm sure you've said but I missed it, but why don't you go to a non-work WW?

I will if they don't renew, but it's really convienent and the real bonus is that we get part of the $$ back - which is kind of nice

Well, I think you'd just consider me a "friend" of WW.  I'm not actually doing WW. So, if I can, I think I'll just consider my WI on Mondays.  Hopefully, that will help me behave over the weekend and not screw-up.

Thanks Terri

Evening?  Oh yeah, work.

Well, I'm getting out of here earlier tonight... On my way out now.  Gotta be back at 7am tomorrow.

Hopefully, I will get to take a break tomorrow and workout.

At least I'm doing good and not nursing the fountain drink machine this tournament.

Catch up with y'all later.

I have to be good on the weekends as well, since my WI is Sunday. However, I refuse to admit just what, or how much, I eat on Sunday afternoons

Hmmm, a fellow Cajun would eat...  a little crawfish etoufeé wit sum fried catfish, maybe some chicken and andouille and tasso gumbo wit potato salad, um - can't forget the boudin, oh, and it's November, of course gotta have some pecan pie.  OR maybe for a quick snack it's just a Hubig Pie and a yoohoo. ( boy I miss those Hubig Pie's

Umm, C'est Cé Bon!

Damn!  now I'm hungry

Had a kick butt swim this morning. Before that i went to WI and was down 2.4 to 243.6. Hopefully in a week or so I'll be done with the 240s.

WI today went well...finally back down under 250 after being just over for a number of weeks.  Also have had a decent week w/ consistency in training.  It's helped my mood, too, which is to be expected.

I went to WI yesterday morning, and I was down .8 pounds to 128.2. I'd hoped for a full pound (especially since I was very, very, very good about eating this week), but I was actually just thrilled with a .8 loss. Hoorah! Clean eating really does work

It also meant that I hit my 10-pound mark -- finally!! And it put me in the WW official healthy weight range. Which gave me two more reasons to celebrate!

Even though I want to lose a few more pounds, I decided to go ahead and declare victory at WW for two reasons. I want to save money on my meetings there in order to get a personal trainer at the gym. But also, I think that the goal I'd set for myself (123-125) is probably not that realistic as a sustainable weight to maintain for long periods of time. I haven't been 125 since the early years of high school. So honestly, I'm just not sure what to expect of my body at that weight, or whether I'd be able to stay there. So I was a little worried about having it as my goal weight, if you know what I mean.

Nonetheless, I felt a little strange, because I got recognized in my meeting as achieving my 'goal weight,' but personally, internally, I still want to lose 3-5 pounds. I hope y'al will wait to celebrate the final victory with me when I hit 125 -- hopefully later this month...

But this brings up the whole question of what a healthy goal weight should be in the first place. And now I have motives of health and motives of vanity sort of jumbled together in my mind. Plus that new pair of pants I can still barely fit into. And the half-marathon training I'm about to start.

I'm thinking it's time to schedule another body-comp test, which is really my measure of choice in terms of setting goals. Just curious, though: For those of you who have been at lifetime before -- how did you set your goal weight?

Letitia - CONGRATULATIONS!  I think you made the right call to declare sucess - that was what i ran into as well - i think it's fine to still have that secondary goal also

as far as setting my goal weight - i really just went by how my clothes fit and that i was within the healthy range - i keep thinking i should get an official look at body comp - just haven't done it, let me know how it goes if you decide to do it

maggyruth - woo ho!  happy for your success, that is awesome.  It really does help with how one feels about things doesn't it?

kimmi - WTG we'll be cheering for you - it's so cool when you see the scale go down into that next range :-)

Have a great wee everyone!
