Tiger Phil - 2005-06-22 7:22 AM  It's kinda hard to tell how much I am losing, though, because I always hit the valve down before I start to air the tire up, to make sure that the seal is broken on the valve and the air will actually go into the tire...

Very important step   I can't even get AIR in them if I don't do that first!

good thread.

beware of heat as it will increase your air pressure and could blow your tire off the rim (clinchers only).  zipp clinchers 404 specifically state not to inflate greater than 125psi no matter what the tire holds becuase they've seen athletes in the heat of kona blow tires off their rims.

my tubulars can take 170psi but i'll keep them at 160psi because that's the highest my guage goes on my pump.
