The hubby and I went to see it on Sat.  I'll admit, I really didn't want to see it.  But, I really enjoyed it.  Great story, great special effects.  MomX3 - congrats to your cousin for a job well done!  At the end of the credits they gave a sneak peek at the upcoming Avengers movie, so now we'll be looking forward to that next summer!  Guess we need to see the Thor and latest Hulk movies, so we can get up to speed on the Marvel characters.

One of the trailers before the movie was for The Amazing Spiderman.  DH and I thought it was odd that another Spiderman series was being started so soon after the highly successful Toby McGuire series.  But, after seeing the Avengers preview, we figured they were trying to establish the new Spiderman for the Avengers movie?  Dunno.

Congrats to your cousin on a job well done.  I was skeptical about Chris in the role when I first heard about it, but I was so excited for the movie that I was giving him the benifit of the doubt.

Any skepticism I had was erased. Chris did a great job. There was no trace of the cocky character he played in Fantastic Four, and in fact I think it was his earnest portrayal of Steve that really made the movie work.

As a big geek & comic fan, this was a perfect comic movie for me. I was smiling all the way home. Just a great movie, and I'll probably see it again in the theater.

BTW, Chris beat out my friend Scott Porter for the role!  :p

I took all 3 of my boys (ages 12, 6, and 4) to see the non-3D version, and they all loved it!

Thought the skinny Steve effects were amazing.  I was sad big Steve missed his dateFrown! lol

Finally got to see it tonight with my 2 teen nephews. We all liked it.

Who saw The Avengers trailer at the end of the credits? We did, we did. Looks like I'm going to have to watch Thor before The Avengers comes out in May.

I did, I did.

Another cool thing from Iron Man - Tony Stark uses Cap's shield to prop up a table.

Really liked the movie a lot!

I'm sorry, this is probably one of the WORST movies I have ever seen.  If it is any indication on how bad the Avengers movie will be, i'm not going to see it, even for free on TV.  Capt America was HORRIBLE.  Not a single redeeming thing about it.  I want my money back!

You clearly don't get to enough movies. I can think of many many many movies I have watched that were worse. Agent Cody Banks, Waking Life, National Treasure 2, Sorcerers Apprentice, the remake of Wicker Man, Stop or My Mom will Shoot, Snakes on a Plane. I've willing seen all of these (and only three of them was I unable to get all the way to the end). Those are just off the top of my head, and in the last few years.

Of course, I once made my summer project goal to see the top grossing new release every week from May through September one year. August is a very tough month. I also once watched a movie every night for several months while I worked on a quilt as a wedding present for my SIL. So I watch a LOT of movies.

I'm happy most of you enjoyed the movie.  My kids want to go see it again and my son already knows he wants to be Captain America for Halloween.  I've never seen Ironman or Thor so I will  be renting those before the Avengers comes out next year.
