Greetings,

This summer I caught the tri bug, having done the Sudbury Sprint and the swim leg of the Cranberry Country, albeit with not enough training.  I'd like to do the same (or more) races next year, and just launched into a formal training plan.

My question is, how do I find other folks to share this obsession with, and potentially to train and/or hang out with?  It seems from reading the posts here that a lot of folks know each other.

Thanks!

Hello there! To bad we missed you at Cranberry, everyone at a great time and it would have been nice to have met you. Just start posting here and checking out other people's logs and leaving inspires. You'll quickly make friends and find some online motivation as well as some training buddies. See you around.

Welcome to the group!  Stay tuned here, there will surely be some things going on this fall and winter, like some of us getting together at the occasional road race or end-of-season triathlon.  If something strikes a chord and you think you can make it to a race, it'd be no problem to make arrangements to meet up.  If you have a local (or not so local) running race that you have in mind, post it here with the details, date, website, stuff like that, and maybe it's one that someone else will be doing as well.

I try to race with BTers when I can, I also belong to Trifury a local club. I am a firm believer in both stratagies. I am not sure which clubs are close to you. I do know that Belmont Wheel Works and Fast Splits have some form of Tri clubs. This will help you for training. Also the Mass BTers are getting organized and stonger in numbers. Posting regularly will get you to know who is training near by. I found my Open Water Swim partner on BT, she comes out with me about once a week all season.

I guess the best bet for BTers it check our blogs like Max said. Do not be affraid to come out and let yourself be know when you see us at races. I also raced Sudbury and Cranbeerry as my two races this year. For the winter, I would keep a close eye on who is racing road races. Looks like the Feaster Five is gaining momentum as a BT favorite on Thanksgiving morning. About 8 of us raced it last year and would love to do it again. Snow included in my book

Good luck and keep in touch
