Subject: RE: 100 Pushup ChallengeIf anyone is interested heres a little workout we used to do daily when I was in the Army. Keeping in mind that I used to average between 500-1000 a day this program used maybe one a week may get you over that 100 hurdle. I suggest doing these all as regular pushups although I think its a good idea to mix it up with incline/decline pushups as well. This was a two person drill which is where the rest periods come from. You rest while your partner does his/her push-ups. With no partner you can go look at yourself in the mirror and admire those shoulders and tris you are developing The only two rest postions during the time you do the push ups is either a plank type position ( the push up starting position) or with your butt in the air. This way you have constant pressure on the arms and shoulders. Be sure to touch the ground with your chest and go all the way back to having your arms as close to locked as you can without actually locking them. Use good technique! 2 minutes max (rest 2 minutes) 1:30 max ( rest 1:30) 1:00 max (rest 1:00) .30 seconds max ( 30 seconds rest) 1:00 max (1:00 rest) 1:30 max ( 1:30 rest) 2:00 max This also works great for sit ups or crunches. Do this for a while and you will hit the century mark pretty quickly. The key is not to be intimidated. Even if you can only do 10 in 2 minutes as long as you are holding those positions you will get stronger. Edited by Imjin 2009-01-05 6:55 AM
