Subject: RE: lrobb's group full - the work is plentiful, success is guaranteed!Man I wish I could take a class.
Well I finished my first official race Sunday Wahoo!
I posted a race report but it is very basic. I spent about 20 min filling in all the data and when I tried to post it there was a connection issue and when I went back to submit it again the page was blank. I got frustrated and just put in the times.
But the overview goes like this
400 yard swim: 7:38 (personal best ) 1:54 min/100 I am very stoked with this I felt like I was swimming in concrete but ended up doing very well.
8 mile bike: 29:01 (includes T1 they didn't break out the transitions ) even with the transition incuded this is 1.5 mph over my goal of 15 mph avg in the race.
1.8 mile run: 19:07 (rode pretty hard and sufferd on the run because of it )
Over all: 55:46 My goal was to finish the race in under an hour so I was very happy with the results. Now I have a metric to measure against for next year.
Sunday my wife and I are running the full sprint in North East MD. My goal for this race is to finish it in under 2 hours. I am not sure if I can keep the same pace that I ran her for twice the distance but I have 8 min of room to drop the pace abit and still hit my goal.
I am offically addicted to Triathlons. We were using this race to figure out what we wanted to do for the longer race and it did just that. I found out that I didn't drink enough water with my gel. My wife figured out that even when she freaked completely out on the swim she could still finish. And we got the transition set up down fairly well. |
