Comments: By mile 3, my calves were already starting to ache.Frm the turn- around point on, I knew I would make a sub. 2 if I didn't walk or give up. I saw my mom mile 8, she was at mile 6 or so. At mile 12.5, a man a little older than me, started talking about how hard a marathon would probably be. This was not the time to talk! At mile 13, a lady who had been neck and neck with me the whole race said " let's race i in", I did, but she won. I gave this race all I had, I tried my best, and that feels good. My mom did really well this race, running 12 minutes faster than P.F. Changs!!! I am so excited to do the san diego rock n' roll marathon with her! What would you do differently?: train on hills!! Post race
Warm down: took the shuttle to the car, got my crocs on, then walked back to the start line. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not training on hills enough. Last updated: 2008-02-19 12:00 AM

walking around, said hi to Jerry and Rick, went to the bathroom twice, and tried not to freeze! So cold!!
Took the shuttle over to the start line. Dropped off bags, said hello to more people I knew, and then squeezed me way through the crowd to get a good spot in the start area.
