Pre-race routine:

walking around, said hi to Jerry and Rick, went to the bathroom twice, and tried not to freeze! So cold!!
Event warmup:

Took the shuttle over to the start line. Dropped off bags, said hello to more people I knew, and then squeezed me way through the crowd to get a good spot in the start area.
Run
  • 1h 57m 23s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 08m 58s  min/mile
Comments:

By mile 3, my calves were already starting to ache.Frm the turn- around point on, I knew I would make a sub. 2 if I didn't walk or give up. I saw my mom mile 8, she was at mile 6 or so. At mile 12.5, a man a little older than me, started talking about how hard a marathon would probably be. This was not the time to talk! At mile 13, a lady who had been neck and neck with me the whole race said " let's race i in", I did, but she won. I gave this race all I had, I tried my best, and that feels good. My mom did really well this race, running 12 minutes faster than P.F. Changs!!! I am so excited to do the san diego rock n' roll marathon with her!
What would you do differently?:

train on hills!!
Post race
Warm down:

took the shuttle to the car, got my crocs on, then walked back to the start line.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not training on hills enough.

Great job out there!  I was surprised that I kept seeing you, you're so small LOL!  You were MOOOVANG!  You've done more in this sport in such a short time than I thought was possible.  Keep it up!
