Comments: As usual - took off too hard - finished mile 1 way too fast...mile 2 killed me...picked it up at mile 3. What would you do differently?: Hmmm... not sure anything...I wanted to just break 25 minutes...since my previous PR for a 5K was 25:13...but at the end I saw the clock was still on 24...so I PUSHED...and low and behold - I made a new 5K PR, and actually met my 2008 goal for 5ks...going under an 8 minute mile. Warm down: Short walk with Paula - then went to the snack area, and at 1/2 a banana, a bagel with some sliced ham...and a gatorade. Okay - I went overboard with the food, but it was good! Event comments: This was one of the Longview Running Clubs monthly runs. The top 4 spots actually went to visiting runners...from a high school cross country team, so my place of 13 was not bad. I placed 2nd in my AG behind Leslie. I placed 13th out of 33...and I was the 3rd woman out of MAYBE 13 (There were 2 "no cards" - 18 and 22.) Last updated: 2008-01-12 12:00 AM

I was even wondering if I should go to this race, since I was sick the day before...but went anyway. Oh - all feelings of sickness disappeared as the race was getting ready to start, and I started getting excited.
I took about a 1/2 mile jog.
