Subject: RE: Newbie from SE MichiganWelcome to the site, GG. We do have a solid crew in Michigan, do some group training every once in a while, and generally cause a commotion wherever we go. It's a good thing. Anyway, a few of us locally have been at the tri stuff for a while, and if there's anything I/we can help with, please PM me or post away on tri-talk. There's a wealth of information on the site, and even more when you catch up in person. Ooh, and one other thing...running everyday may be good for overcoming the fear of running, but your legs will rebel against you after a little bit - rest and recovery are just as important as the running. There are some great trianing plans on BT....I think the 'winter maintenance, running focus' would really help the running AND keep some balance, but may be too much volume for you. Alternatively, you may want to ease into it with a couch to sprint or couch to oly plan. They're formulated to keep you uninjured, and work well. Just a thought. |
