For anyone who talks about not being able to increase your weekly mileage, check this woman out:

214 mile week

She's a lawyer, and she has Hodgkin's disease.

Wow... that is an amazing effort. The average of over a marathon everyday is daunting! 41.60 miles on the first day. If I ran that distance I'd not run for at least two days. My hat is off to her.

wow. And I expected to see miles @ 12~15 mins/mile when I first reading the story. She was moving at a pretty good clip.

I'll remember this when I'm complaining about my 30~40 mpw.

Those crazy dudes in this month's RW crossed the Sahara averaging about 45/day. That seems borderline excessive to me.

The same could be said about combining a marathon with a 112 bike ride, and a 2.4 mile swim, all in one day.

That is insane mileage! Though, you'd be surprised by how many people you see doing it (on the elite level). I remember RW did a pre-Oly Marathon Trials special on some of the runners, and a few were in this mileage category.

Crazy mileage!  Can't imagine doing that!  Hope she makes it through this mess and recovers.

wow. I'm a lawyer and had breast cancer about a year and a half ago. During chemo everyone was all agog that I continued to run and work, and that I'd bike to the hospital (a whopping 23 miles away from my house). But I did NOTHING like what she did. I am in awe. I will stop whining now.... I think it shows the power of the mind. We are so much less frail than we think.

EDIT: by the way my running during chemo consisted of some very grueling 3 milers...
