Run
Comments: Since I'm in base training for the Timberman triathlon in August, I looked at it as a training run; my goal was to run around my 9 min/mile easy pace. Unfortunately Carrie's Garmin didn't "find" the satellite, so I didn't know what my pace was for the first mile. Fortunately, Fred ran with me and we were able to keep the pace consistent. There was a pretty big hill in mile four that had me breathing pretty hard, but after that it was pretty smooth until I kicked it up a bit in the last half mile, which included a decent hill-- I was sucking wind, but knew that it was the end,so it was bearable. I felt great at the finish. I took my gloves off right before that last hill, and it was amazing how much better that made me feel. What would you do differently?: Make sure that if I wear a Garmin, that it is working properly. Post race
Warm down: Drank water, ate a banana, bagel and two hot dogs. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. I didn't try to run any faster, except at the end. Event comments: Race was postponed two weeks because of a forecasted snowstorm that never occurred. Last updated: 2008-03-15 12:00 AM

Got up around 5:30, although I woke up before 5. Slept pretty well before that. Ate oatmeal with banana. Got there about an hour ahead of time, which I like. I hate feeling rushed before a race.
Nothing really.
