Swim
  • 11m 43s
  • 547 yards
  • 02m 08s / 100 yards
Comments:

Time includes run from beach to transition area (aprox 200 yds??)

Improved pace from last race.
What would you do differently?:

Need to work on the ocean swimming.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Long run from water to transition and then long run out of transition down a bike path to a side street, short run up street to clear a speed bump before getting on the bike.

No seperate T1 time provided.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I think it was a good transition.
Bike
  • 34m 5s
  • 10.8 miles
  • 19.01 mile/hr
Comments:

Bike time includes T1 and T2 times since times were taken as entering the transition area after the swim and then again as leving the transition area on the run. This reduced the pace calculated due to the time to run from the transition area to the mount line and then from dismount all the way back to the transition area.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

No T2 time provided.
Run
  • 27m 58s
  • 3.7 miles
  • 07m 34s  min/mile
Comments:

Started to sprinkle towards the end for a little bit. Nice run.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk, drink, light stretch.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Just got over a stomach virus that lasted for a week. I was unable to workout/train for the last 8 days.

Event comments:

Did not like the lack of timing chips and the inclusion of T1 and T2 into the bike leg. Beach run was nice, but this was a last minute change to the course that none of the racers knew about until the morning race briefing. Also, did not like the long run down the bike path to get to and from the mount/dismount point.
Overall the race was nice, just a few sticking points for me. Did better than I expected considering the stomach virus that just had me completely messed up for the last week. In fact, didn't even know if I was going to make the race until late the day before.

Finished: 72 out of 202 men
My places in Men 40-44: OA - 9/20, Swim - 19/20, Bike - 8/20, Run - 8/20
