WOW..........I do have a tri suit but I didnt know you could swim in it. The suit is 2 pieces. The bike shorts are mid lenght lightly padded and the top is kinda "meshy" with a zipper in the front. I guess I will have to try and test that out.

What do gals who HAVE to run in sports bras do??? Put the bras on under the swim suit ???

Thanks for the advise everyone!

Yep, that does indeed sound like tri clothing. The point of that clothing is to wear it all the way through all 3 events. You hop out of the swim, dry your feet, put your shoes and socks on and hop on the bike, hop off the bike, switch to your running shoes and go out running. All three events in the same outfit. And the material it is made of is made to dry real fast.

It's honestly not that bad to have a sports bra on under the swimsuit or tri top. Depending on the tri top I wear, I wear a sports bra under my tri top sometimes because the tri top does not offer enough support for the run.

Just wanted to say I am looking forward to this race next week! This will be my 3rd tri. I've ridden the bike course 2 times over the past week. It is a really nice course, mostly flat, which is great! I think it will be an awesome race!

I missed out on the test ride the other weekend due to having to work.
Does anybody have Mon or Tues off next week and want to give the course a test ride/run?

I've been wanting to get up there to go over the course, so I don't miss any turns (like my last tri, missed the only left turn! Doh!).

I am in Fayetteville so I will not be able to come up until Sat. Will anyone be out riding the course Sat. afternoon?

I'd be up for that, if I didn't have a wedding to go to on Sat.
(Not mine BTW, I'm still searching )

Is anyone having to drive up and stay the night? I am not sure where to stay. I saw a link on the BASF website but the hotels listed were Raleigh not Wake Forest. I would like to stay as close to the race as possible. Any suggections from the "locals".

Oh yea..... this is my first tri.......I am getting nervous..........eeekkkkk!!!!

I see that the online registration has been closed. Does anyone know if there is still a way to register for this race?

Try to PM Rwarriner, she has organized this race. She may be able to tell you if anyone has dropped etc. Her link is on page one of this post.

I hope it works out and you get a spot.

I got in!! I am really looking forward to this. It should be very interesting since I only began thinking about doing a triathlon a couple weeks ago. I wish that I had more time to think all of this through but I can't think of a better way to get started than to just jump in. Have a great time y'all

I just got my email from The Smile Train. Swim times and bib numbers are ready. I am bummed that my swim start is pretty much dead last. I guess I expected as much since this is my first TRI and my swim time was slow. But still......I don't want to be finishing last. GRRR.
My Bib number is 293. If you see me wave and try and speed me up...lol!

well, you'll just have to pass some people!
The swim starts are only gapped by 10 seconds. So, you won't be so far away fom those that start way ahead of you.
Since the swim is single direction in each lane, there should be plenty of room to pass if you swim faster than you thought.

It should be fun and interesting!

Guys, gals, whoever... this is so amazing!  The BASF Smile Train Tri is raising over $12,000 for The Smile Train - just from this race!  The race is sold out and starting in just a few hours (it's actually 3:36am and we're going up to finish setting up!)

Thank you to everyone who is participating.  We are so blessed and it is wonderful to see so many people stretch themselves physically to do a race that is going to benefit so many people.

The local news channel and 2 newspapers will be here to cover the story, The Smile Train sent down a representative for the race, we have 327 registrants, 500 bottles of water, hundreds of bagels, medals, t-shirts, and many, many volunteers.

It all adds up and we are truly Turning Miles into Smiles!
Thank you!
