Subject: Hilly Bike Routes in/near STL?

Does anyone have any good hilly bike routes they can share? I live in Clayton, and I dont mind a little drive if I have to start a ride elsewhere. I really would like to get a lot more hill training in!

 Thanks!

Andy.

getsome could probably tell you better because is he around there as well.     I do know that Babler state park is hilly.   Its near the chesterfield crossing, a bit of a drive for you but still in the St Louis metro area.   There probably isnt much traffic inside the park so it is pretty safe, and you can climb "The Beast".   I did a triathlon out there last year.

shows you how useful i am, eh, josh?

that whole area out by wildhorse creek past chesterfield is frightening.  it might be worth exploring though, ranger.

Souix Passage in north county is good for hill repeats.

Head out to Wildwood or down to Jefferson County. Either area will provide you with all the climbing you can handle. As for specific routes, there are many. I suggest you check out the routing on 2WheelTech.com.

I second that. The roads around there have some decent hills as well.

ghisallo has a ride from their shop in the valley to st. albans and back.  Good hills are around their.  loop.. Melrose, Hwy T, Basset, Old Manchester Rd., Bouqet rd, Melrose. Another good hilly ride is the 70 mile knuckle head ride. Starts at Hanley and clayton at 6:30am on sunday.--Goes at past six flags.
