Pre-race routine:

The race was schedules to start at 1:30 pm. after the 5k and 10k had finished. So, C 4yo and I 2 1/2 had no nap. Of course we started late, around 2:10 pm.
Event warmup:

No need to warm up, it was 100+ degrees.

Post race
Warm down:

Hit the showers, waited for daddy to get the truck and pick us up. Went to Dairy Queen to celebrate.
I am glad I left the numbers on the kids. Even with showers, I decided not to change our clothes and were looked like a dirt ball family. In DQ I felt obligated to explain to everyone around that we are not usually so dirty, we had just finished a race.

We had a great time. We will definitely check it out again next year.

Course: Zig zag through parking lot, down watery slide, over wall, through mud pit. We went around three times. We were being shot with hoses of water. The kiddos seemed shocked a bit at first, but then they got used to it.

You are sooo funny. I can imagine the looks you were getting from those around you! but who de heck cares! good job on keeping them active...believe you me...they will remember...it is funny the memories that Steph brings up...some things I would think that she would never remember....so, keep up the great mommying! can't wait to meet you in a few weeks!
