Subject: RE: Strange Knee Pain. Sounds like an IT (iliotibial) band issue. Read up on that (google, etc), and if it is and it just happened recently, keep it well iced for a few minutes several times for the first 3 days. Maybe see a sports therapist (a 1-time visit should be good enough)
Get a foam roller and roll a couple times a day. Take it very easy for a couple weeks. I had an IT band issue after my first marathon at the beginning of March and I had to be sidelined for 4 weeks. It seemed like it was never going to end, but it did eventually. But you gotta take it easy. |
